GENERAL
Jockey T Marshall was unable to ride due to injury and Jockey J Bayliss was unable to attended today’s meeting due to transport difficulties, rider replacements as per summary.
 
Race 1 - TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY Maiden Plate 1050 metres
 
ARATULA - Raced four wide throughout. Rider S Lacy reported that the gelding did not appreciate the tight turning track and proved disappointing.
 
DAASHUR - Became fractious on route to the barriers, dislodging Apprentice Z Lloyd who was subsequently examined by QAS and cleared to fulfill engagements. The gelding also underwent a pre-race vet examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
NOKONDI - Began awkwardly. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
FLECKERL - Raced three wide throughout.
 
EASY RUBY - Shortly after the start was bumped by JOYOUS TEA. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SHEEZ MARVELLOUS - Tighten between runners on jumping. Approaching the 800m was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of SISKIN which hung out. Near the 200m was restrained from the heels of LIVELY LASS and put in an awkward stride and became momentarily unbalanced.
 
 
 
SOUND OF SLEAT - Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and in middle stages.
 
SISKIN - Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m hung out and raced ungenerously for some distance.
 
JOYOUS TEA - Shortly after the start shifted in making contact with EASY RUBY.
 
LIVELY LASS- Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 2 - KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 Handicap 1050 metres
 
The start was delayed when THE BUMBLEBEE on arrival to the barriers, required farrier attention to its near fore plate.

OAKFIELD GERONIMO – From the 400m was held up for clear running. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPER FREAK - Near the 650m was taken wider when SHES A MITZY shifted out to improve and raced wide for the remainder. A post-race veterinary examination identified poor post-race recovery and to be lame in the near fore-leg. Trainer P Duff was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
MAHOE GOLD - Began awkwardly, near the 800m whilst over racing was steadied from heels.
 
SHE'S A MITZY - Near the 650m shifted out to obtain a clear running
 
THE BUMBLEBEE - Trainer S Sixtus when questioned into the seemingly improved performance reported that the mare in its previous start at Gatton on the 7th of May  2021 did not appreciate the heavy conditions and proved disappointing. Ms Sixtus further added that THE BUMLEBEE was better suited in today’s event being ridden with cover.
 
SECONDOFMAY - Tightened between runners on jumping and lost ground.
 
DREAMALINA - A post-race veterinary examination of DREAMALINA identified a minor abrasion to its near hindquarter and was treated by the Veterinary Surgeon prior to departing course.
 
Race 3 - GREAT NORTHERN BREWING Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed to allow rider M Schrapel (ANIMAL INSTINCT) to view the official photo, on examination correct weight was declared on the Judges placings.
 
CHILL THE BEER - Near the 100m was bumped on the hind quarters by MASTER BALYEE and became unbalanced.
 
 
MASTER BAYLEE – After being caught wide in the early stages was permitted to stride forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 650m. Approaching the 100m while under hard riding shifted in abruptly making heavy contact with CHILL THE BEER. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding identified poor post-race recovery.
 
 
DER SIEGER - Approaching the 100m checked when placed in restricted room to the inside of MASTER BALYEE which shifted in abruptly.
 
JAILBIRD JAYJAY- Began awkwardly and tightened for room and lost ground.
 
Race 4 - SEARLE FAMILY KILCOY QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CHARLIE SPHENE – Bumped with PAPERCLIP rounding the home turn. Rider M McGillivray reported that the gelding failed to respond to his riding from the 400m and weakened. A post-race veterinary examination identified poor post-race recovery.
 
BEST TO HURRY- Trainer K Kemp when questioned into the seemingly improved performance, reported that with the step up in distance and being ridden with cover in today’s event he was expecting a forward showing.
 
PAPERCLIP - Rounding the home turn bumped with CHARLIE SPHENE.
 
READY TO CHASE - Began awkwardly and when unable to find a position with cover was then obliged to race three wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Rider M Potgieter reported that the gelding did not appreciate the tight turning track.
 
JELLISHOT - Near the 650m improved onto heels and shifted wider.
 
LADY SHANGHAI - Slow to begin.
 
CIVITAS - Near the 650m was carried wider by JELLISHOT which shifted out to improve.
 
Race 5 - SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL Class 1 Plate 800 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to a number of fractious runners and the pre-race ear muffs of JO JO GO being dislodged under the barriers.
 
AT THE HELM - Race wide throughout.

EDDIEGATO - Buffeted between runners on jumping.
 
FALVERA - Bumped heavily on jumping. Rider G Steele reported that after being bumped her saddle shifted back on jumping placing her at a disadvantage and taking not competitive part in the event.
 
LA BELLE LA BELLE - Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
METRO TRAMP - Jockey J Morris was to be overweight was replaced by A Allen as the rider. Began awkwardly, tightened for room and lost ground.
 
 
Race 6 - SEARLE GARDEN PRODUCTS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1900 metres
 
ZOUZOUZALO - Declared a late scratching at 12:05pm on Veterinary advice after it sustained an injury to its near hind fetlock en route to the course. Trainer K Kemp as notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
HELLAVA BABE - Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point round the home turn.
 
MOSS GO NOW - Slow to begin. Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point round the home turn.
 
SOUL DANCER - A post-race veterinary examination identified the filly to be lame in its off hind leg. Trainer D Forster was notified that she will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
ALIRAAJ (NZ) - Began awkwardly. After being caught wide in the early stages was permitted to stride forward to take a position outside the leader near the 1100m.
 
RESONARE - Near the 1600m was steadied when racing in restricted room. Held up for clear running from the 500m until a point round the home turn.
 
TYCOON PLAYER - Raced three wide without cover throughout.  
 
Race 7 - BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1500 metres
 
EMSHALKY - Approaching the 600m was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside ZEDAQUA (NZ) which laid in momentarily.
 
JABALI GOLD - From the wide barrier was ridden aggressively forward to obtain and position outside the leader near the 900m. Weakened noticeably from the 400m and took no further competitive part in the event. Apprentice J Huxtable reported concerns with the geldings actions over the concluding stages and as a result underwent a post-race veterinary which failed to reveal any abnormal findings. Trainer C.Munce advised that the gelding would go for an immediate spell after today’s disappointing performance.
 
BAMBALAM - Made the first turn awkwardly and shifted wider.
 
ELUSIVE ELEMENT - Near the 650m improved onto the heels of ZEDAQUA (NZ) and was steadied.
 
FORT MYER - Hampered between runners on jumping.
 
POLE VOLTER - Slow to begin.
 
ZEDAQUA (NZ) - Made the first turn awkwardly and shifted wider. Laid in momentarily near the 650m.
 
I'M JACKO - Shifted out to improve passing the 1100m and raced three wide for the remainder.
 
Race 8 - KILCOY CUP SUNDAY JUNE BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
DESTINY'S SON - Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout. Stewards questioned apprentice O Webb regarding the tactics adopted in which she raced wide throughout. Apprentice Webb stated that her instructions were to be positive and to lead if possible. After beginning well, App Webb pressed forward to fulfil instructions, however after being caught wide elected to remain wide throughout. Approaching the 600m was then forced even wider on the track when ZOU DEE ZEE improved to her inside. Stewards whilst noting her explanation and inexperience advised App Webb that she erred in her judgment by not electing to ease and take cover near the 800m when the opportunity presented. A post-race veterinary examination of DESTINSY’S SON did not reveal any abnormal findings.
 
COAT OF ARMS - Bumped with HIDDEN SECRET rounding the home turn.
 
ZEELUCK - Bumped on jumping.
 
KOTA FLYER - Slow to begin.
 
PADDLEPOP - Stood flat footed and lost ground. Trainer C Saunders was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barriers manners.
 
BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA - Began awkwardly.
 
HIDDEN SECRET- Bumped on jumping. Trainer T Hurley was questioned into the seemly improved performance in which he reported that the mare had performed well in three recent jumpouts. He further stated that the mare had been working well leading up to today’s event and he was expecting a forward showing.
 
INVESTIBLE- Began awkwardly.
