Race 1: MAKING MILESTONES BM 60 HANDICAP 1400 metres

SPARMAN – Reared as the gates opened losing considerable ground.

AMADEO – Fractious in the gates prior to the start.

GOLDSAY – Laid in down the home straight under pressure. Jockey Matthew Gray was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip prior to the 100m using it 6 times prior to the 100, one time more than permitted.

GET IN THE GROOVE – Travelled wide in the early & middle stages.

ECHELON ROSE – Raced keenly in the early stages.

DURANT – Jumped outwards.

Race 2: DAVID & CLAIRE WALKER RATINGS BAND 0 – 50 HANDICAP 1200 metres

CHEEKY CHOPS, OUR SAY, WRITERS BLOCK & SCOTTABEE were all late scratching’s at 1:00pm due to no available riders.

Jockey Alisha Ross was treated by ambulance officers after the running of the first race for dehydration. She was subsequently stood down for the remainder of the day & taken to hospital for further observation & treatment. Jockey Alisha Ross was notified she would need a medical clearance prior to riding in races again. Prior to being treated by ambulance officers Alisha Ross was reprimanded for failing to claim her full allowance under AR143(14)(a) with her travel the previous day being taken into consideration when ascertaining penalty.

SAME OLD STORY was a late scratching @ 2.20pm with A. Ross being stood down on medical advice. Deductions were announced with correct weight as all monies invested on the mare to be refunded and 19 cents in the face value of the dollar for win bets & 16 cents in the face value of the dollar for place bets.

ZORRO MACHO – Travelled wide in the early & middle stages and had to be eased off heels near the 600m.

GREY FALCON – Slow into stride.

NICKSY BOY – Travelled wide for much of the race. Laid in over the concluding stages.


Race 3: LONGREACH FRUIT BARN CLASS 5 PLATE 1200 metres

STAR SILK, GRANOLA STATE & FOR THE RECORDS were all late scratching’s at 1:00pm due to no riders being available.

BURDEN was a late scratching at 2:20pm with Jockey A. Ross stood down for medical reasons.

SEVEN YEAR REWARD – Was hampered on jumping by BOLD SAM, which shifted in onto SEVEN YEAR REWARD, resulting in Jockey B. Richardson losing her outside iron for several strides. Laid in down the home straight.

BOLD SAM – Fractious prior to the start, then came together with SEVEN YEAR REWARD on jumping causing the gelding to be slow into stride.

JAR HEAD – Placed in restricted room near the 200m and obliged to shift wider on the track to gain clear running. Jockey Emma Bell requested to see the patrol footage down the home straight prior to correct weight to ascertain whether to lodge a protest. Jockey E. Bell after viewing the footage available did not object and correct weight was given on the judge’s placings.

KALMAR – Stood flat footed and then jumped away with head in the air for several strides and travelled wide in the early stages.

ZILITOR – Laid in down the home straight.


Race 4: PATRON KATE DEAN OPEN HANDICAP 1100 metres

HEROISM was a late scratching’s at 1pm with no rider available.

ZENDAYE was a late scratching at 2:20pm with A. Ross being stood down for medical reasons.

BOINGO – Jumped away awkwardly.

CHAPELCO – Travelled wide in the early & middle stages then laid in down the home straight having to be corrected on several occasions.

BENCHI PEGASUS – Slow into stride.


Race 5: G & G BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS BM 45 HANDICAP 1000 metres

ANOTHER EPISODE was a late scratching’s at 1pm with no rider available.

ANGRY DESERT was a late scratching at 2:20pm with A. Ross being stood down for medical reasons.

KURIL FOX – Slow to begin.

LOLLIPOP ROCKET – Underwent a veterinary inspection in the mounting yard and then again behind the barriers and passed fit to race. Travelled wide for much of the race.
