ZULU REIGN – Was examined prior to start and was found to have a small laceration to the inside of its off-side nostril and was cleared to start. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer F. Wieland was advised  
 
FAST ENUFF – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
SHRECK – Raced ungenerously in the early when being restrained. Over-raced in the early stages.

CASURINA STAR – Slow to begin. Lost its off hind plate during in running.
 
LET'S CONQUER – The inside barrier gate bounced back after opening, slightly hampering the gelding. This was brought to the starter’s attention.
 
ROTH'N'BELL – Over-raced in the middle stages. Rider dropped his whip leaving the 300 metres.   
 
HONORED VOW – Raced wide for majority of the race.
