Race 1:MILES IGA BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1050m
 
BLAINE – Slow into stride.
 
HARD ENOUGH – Began awkwardly.
 
JUST FAVULOUS – Began awkwardly. Inclined to hang out throughout. Hung out across heels rounding the home turn and was forced to restrain. Trainer D. Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
GRANDE CASADORA – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 2:CRAIG MEAD MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (SPONSORED BY T & C DISTRIBUTORS) – 1050m  
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of FAINTY MACABRE made application to be declared a non runner. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available patrol footage, it became evident that FAINTY MACABRE’S barrier was slow to open. Subsequently stewards declared FAINTLY MACABRE a non-runner ordering that all monies invested in the filly be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
 
11 cents in the dollar for the win - #5
18 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #5
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #2
  5 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #1
 
ZARAGIGI – Slow to begin.
 
FLYING BENNY – Began awkwardly.
 
AND OVER AGAIN – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3:J MULLIINS PLUMBING / DRURY FAMILY CLASS B HANDICAP- 1200m  
 
SIRSTRO – Slow to begin. Slow into stride. Tailed the field for the majority of the event proving disappointing. Jockey R. Payne advised that after beginning poorly the filly resented the kick back throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities.
 
MAHA MUSTANG – Began awkwardly.
 
TOTAL TRUCE – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
SCARAB – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Shifted out leaving the 600m forcing another runner wider of the track.
 
MISS BULITZ – Raced in restricted room leaving the 1100m and was forced to restrained. Forced wider leaving the 600m when another runner to the inside shifted out.
 
Race 4:MURILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP (SPONSORED BY THE QUEENSLAND HOTEL) – 1200m
 
ANCIENT ECHOES – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Placed in restricted room and was checked from heel leaving the 1050m when OKANAGAN MISS shifted in. Apprentice A. Jones the rider of OKANAGAN MISS plead guilty to a charge of carless riding under AR.131(a) in that she permitted her mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of another runner to the inside. Apprentice Jones’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of eight day to commence midnight 20/2/2021 and to conclude midnight 28/2/2021. Apprentice Jones was advised of her right to an internal review.
 
NECESSITAS – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Steadied from heels at the 1000m.
 
OKANAGAN MISS – Began awkwardly.
 
QUART POT – Shifted in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 5:JOHN MULLINS MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP (SPONSORED BY MURILLA HARDWARE SUPPLIES) – 1500m
 
SHUDA KNOWN BETTER – Fractious in the mounting yard. Made contact with the running rail on route to the barriers sustaining an injury to the near hind leg. Declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4:25pm. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in SHUDA KNOWN BETTER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
11 cents in the dollar for the win - #6
14 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #6
14 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #5
11 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #3
 
Trainer B. Johnson was advised the mare would require a veterinary certificate prior to next racing as well as a warning would be placed on the horse for its pre-race manners.
 
GENG – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
AKLAVIK – Began awkwardly.
 
AUTHADANE – Over raced for a short distance passing the winning post on the first occasion.
