Race 1: Schneider Electric QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1300m  
 
AMRON – Slow to begin.  Bumped heavily on the hindquarters near the 250m and became unbalanced.
 
STARS DON’T RUST – Slow to begin. Forced wider by another runner near the 250m and commenced to race greenly and shifted wider, then making heavy contact with the hindquarters of AMRON, clipping that runner’s heels and blundering badly.
 
DESPIRITO – Hampered by another runner which laid out near the 300m and shifted wider.
 
EDITH MARGARET – Laid out near the 300m, hampering another runner. Rider C. Jokic was advised to make a greater effort to keep her mounts straight in similar circumstances.
 
EXCITING HEIGHTS – Rider L. Tilley pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) in that he failed to make sufficient effort to straighten his mount when under pressure near the 250m, shifting out when insufficiently clear of STARS DON’T RUST, which in turn was forced out and commenced to race greenly, making heavy contact with another AMARON. L. Tilley’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, Saturday, 13 October, and to expire at midnight, 21 October. 
Jockey Tilley was advised of his review rights. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have  lacerations to both hind legs.  
 
WITTY SON – Raced ungenerously and wide throughout and had a tendency to hang out,  finishing  tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer J. Manzelmann advised that the horse would be leaving his stable, however was nevertheless advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided before the horse would be eligible to race again, and further that its nomination would be refused at TAB meetings until such time as its form improved by way of country meetings.
 
Race 2: CCG Class 2 Plate – 1300m 
 
SOUND INVESTMENT – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MRS DASH – Slow to begin. Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
PROANE – Slow to begin. Tightened for room shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
PRINCE OF MINE – Slow to begin. Shifted in shortly after the start, tightening runners to its inside.
 
FORDYCE KNIGHT – Had a tendency to hang out from the 600m.
 
Race 3: NHP Open H’cap – 1200m 
 
THANK GOD FOR FRANK – Slow to begin.
 
MR CHAPLIN – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Race 4: MM Electrical Mackay NQ Classic 3yo & 4you Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1800m 
 
WEAR THE FOX HAT – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA VIRTUE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 5: Cabac Maiden H’cap – 1560m 
 
TRUST ISSUES – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start and began awkwardly. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.  Returned to scale with blood in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to have bitten its tongue.
 
MIGHT MEERKAT – Raced wide in the early stages of the race.
 
RED RIPPA – After arriving in the parade yard, it was discovered by the yard steward that the horse had been saddled without its lead bag included. Trainer Mr A. Albert was directed back to the tie-up stalls for the horse to be re-saddled. Subsequently Trainer Mr A. Albert pleaded guilty to a charge under AR140A (1) & (2), in that as the trainer of the gelding he failed to saddle the horse with its lead bag. Mr Albert was fined the sum of $500. Mr Albert  , and was advised of his appeal rights.
 
 Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: Nexans Olex Benchmark 55 H’cap – 1050m 
 
EARL OF FORDYCE – Slow to begin.  Hampered near the 200m by another runner which shifted out. Restrained near the 80m when placed in restricted room by other runners.
 
KWANZA – Slow to begin and was then tightened for room and lost ground.
 
COLLAR’S UP – Shifted out at the start, tightening a runner to its outside.
 
LEIGHWAY – Shifted in at the start, tightening a runner to its inside. Shifted in abruptly near the 80m when crowded for room, tightening a runner to its inside.
 
CHIC SOX – Had difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 200m having to be steadied and shift out, and in doing so hampered another runner. Again shifted out when looking for clear running leaving the 100m, placing another runner in restricted room near the 80m.  Jockey J. Stanley, rider of CHIC SOX, was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
LIKER – Raced wide for the majority of the race, and shifted in slightly leaving the 100m, crowding a runner to its inside.
