SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

YEPPOON 15TH SEPTEMBER 2020 – Race 2

Trainer T McMahon reported that MERIDAS BOW had pulled up shin sore and would now be spelled.

GENERAL

All runners who competed in the last seven days underwent pre race veterinary examinations and were passed fit to start.

Race 1: PAYNE PRINT QTIS Three-Year-Old Class 1 Handicap 1300 metres

The Silver Lady – Trainer T Button was fined $100 under AR65 for failing to produce the identification card for the filly. Jumped away awkwardly. Shortly after jumping, shifted in contacting COLOUR PERFECT and as a result was momentarily inconvenienced.

Courtesy Bus – Hung in throughout placing its rider at a disadvantage throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J Wehlow was advised a warning would be placed on the record of the colt. Rider A Butler was fined $400 for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permissible under the rule.

Kefalonia – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, rider Z White stated that her mount travelled well in the early and middle stages but when placed under pressure from the vicinity of the 600m, failed to respond and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. Rider Z White further stated that she felt the mount choked down in the run. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

I Feel Real – Approaching the 1100m, had to be restrained to avoid the heels of COURTESY BUS which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. Raced in restricted room from the 1100m to approaching the 1000m. Laid out rounding the home turn.

Colour Perfect – Shortly after jumping away was momentarily inconvenienced by THE SILVER LADY which shifted in. Overraced in the early stages. Approaching the 200m, was momentarily inconvenienced by KEFALONIA which laid out under pressure and COURTESY BUS which hung in despite the efforts of its rider.

Race 2: CASU JACKS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1300 metres

Elle a Walking – Overraced in the early stages.

Mr Tindall – Overraced in the early stages.

Don't Doubt Lara – Approaching the 700m, made contact with the running rail and as a result, became awkwardly placed on the heels of BRAD.

Scorcha – Bound on jumping. Rider Z White was fined $600 for using her whip seven times prior to the 100m, 2 more than permissible under the rule.

Race 3: S H TAIT & CO. Maiden Handicap 1050 metres

Rock'n Blitz – Jumped away awkwardly and shortly after became awkward in its stride when racing in restricted room between HARRINGTON and ENRAGED.

Balnagal – Knuckled on jumping away.

Enraged – Overraced in the early stages. Momentarily inconvenienced on entering the home straight by ROCK’N BLITZ which shifted out to improve into clear running.

Mr Palomino – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start.

Raw Instinct – Approaching the 700m, had to be restrained off the heels of MR PALOMINO which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Rider E Smith was reprimanded and advised to ensure she is clear when shifting ground in the future.

Race 4: SMARTSTATE RENTALS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres

Magic Cody – Bound on jumping. Approaching the 700m, commenced to overrace and had to be restrained of heels of HARRY ROCKET. Trainer T Bannon reported that MAGIC CODY would now be leaving her stable.

Race 5: MCDONALD MURPHY MACHINERY BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1100 metres

Such A Whit – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.

Sir Van Dyke – Bumped on jumping away.

Great Fox – Jumped away awkwardly.

The Swell – Shifted in abruptly approaching the 1000m contacting the running rail.

Miss Defiance – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow into stride as a result. Laid out rounding the home turn.

Race 6: BLUE RIVER LANDSCAPE SUPPLIES OPEN Handicap 1050 metres

Correct weight was delayed to allow rider of 2nd placegetter S. Wiseman (TA CHANSON) and Trainer T Bannon to view the judges’ photo finish. After viewing the photo they were satisfied with the judges’ placings and correct weight was declared.

Drumbeat's Choice – Passing the 200m, was momentarily inconvenienced by OUR BOY PENDLES which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.

Platinum Tycoon – Approaching the 600m after being crossed by ARARRAC, had to be steadied after improving onto heels and continued to overrace onto heels for a short distance thereafter.

Our Boy Pendles – Jumped away awkwardly shifting in contacting DISTRICT, who was carried in onto STONE WARRIOR. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

Palladian – Slow into stride.

Stone Warrior – Jumped away awkwardly contacting the outside barrier partition and shortly after had to be restrained heels of DISTRICT who was carried in by OUR BOY PENDLES.

District – Contacted on jumping away. Jockey E.Smith pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) of excessive use of the whip, in that she used it on 18 occasions, and her license to ride in races was suspended for 8 days, to commence at midnight 28th September and to expire at midnight 7th October.

Ta Chanson – Momentarily inconvenienced approaching the winning post when DISTRICT shifted out under pressure.

Ararrac – Trainer A Jenkinsons’ explanation for the late declaration of A.Sewell was accepted.

Race 7: TAB NQ CLASSIC QTIS 3YO & 4YO BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1800 metres

Tiger Can – When questioned regarding the performance, rider A Butler reported he was pleased with the overall performance with the gelding being its first start over the distance and in his opinion would derive benefit from the run.

Southern Swing – Raced wide throughout.

Scent Of Fear – In the vicinity of the 1000m shifted in and contacted the running rail. Rider N Day was fined $300 for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permissible.

Imali – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the first turn and commenced to overrace in the early and middle stages.

Notoriety – Laid out rounding the home turn. Rider A Sewell was fined $300 for using his whip 6 times prior to the 100m, 1 more than permissible.

Vamparina – An inquiry into the circumstances of rider Z White returning to scale in excess of 2 kilos overweight was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed.

Bernie Beel – Declared a late scratching at 7.50am after no rider was available.
