Race 1 – COLONIAL SUPERMARKET QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M

DELILAH’S DREAM scratched at barriers 1.45pm when unable to be loaded into barriers.  Stewards ordered that all monies invested on DELILAH’S DREAM were to be refunded and all successful bets for the win were to be paid less five (5) cents in the dollar and all successful place bets were to be paid less six (6) cents in the dollar on the face value of the tickets. Trainer K. Krogh was advised the mare must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to starting again, AR 20 (e).  After breaking away from attendants and being recaptured a veterinary examination failed to reveal any injuries to the mare.

SALTWATER SLEDGE - Raced wide in the early stages.

CHAUSIE – Rider advised that the horse’s hind legs slipped on jumping. Approaching the 600m the filly which was having first start in the west commenced to over race when resenting the kick back.  Also at this time had to be checked as the result of runners to the inside and outside shifting ground

VIAHEL – Slow into stride. Approaching the 600m made contact with the rail when resenting the kick back and threw head in the air and shifted outwards resulting in runner to the outside to race in restricted room.

UNIMAGINEABLE - Having first start in this area. Approaching the 600m when resenting the kickback, shifted inwards marginally contributing to a runner to the inside having to be checked.

Race 2 – CAVA HYDRAULICS BENCHMARKET 55 HANDICAP – 1000M

BRAVE JEWEL – Raced wide in the early stages.

ALPHA STRYKE - Raced wide in early and middle stages.

ALIK - Performed below market expectations.  Rider interviewed and stated that after being tightened for room on jumping he took up a position at the rear of the field which was contrary to the gelding’s usual racing pattern.  Further, as the race progressed the horse resented the kickback and was uncompetitive.  Near the 600m was taken wider on the track in an attempt to avoid the kickback. Rider stated in his opinion the gelding would appreciate a distance longer than today’s race. Trainer when interviewed concurred and was unable offer any further explanation.  Explanations were noted.

FLYING MAGIC – Approaching the 600m had to be steadied off the heels of another runner when attempting a run to the inside of that other runner.  Taking into account the horse’s racing manners, rider S. Mossman was reminded of his obligations to ensure that there is sufficient room when attempting runs.

Race 3 – STEEJO PRESS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1450M

SAMIKOSHO – Raced wide in early and middle stages.

MOVING TARGET – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

MY CRIMSON LAD - Bumped with another runner on jumping.

UNDER THE WEATHER - Raced wide in the early stages.

BROOKLANDS – Raced wide throughout.
