Race 1: CNW THE LEADING INDEPENDENT OPEN PLATE 1000m
Le Chef – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
Wicked Wiki - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
Mandalong Pass – Commenced to lose ground passing the 600m. Finished tailed off. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Yarrapower – Raced wide without cover for the majority. When questioned Jockey R McMahon advised that the gelding which was racing 2nd up from a 14 month absence had travelled comfortably in the race before its run peaked over the concluding stages. Jockey McMahon was nonetheless reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out to the finish line. Trainer Mr J Morris advised that due to a change of plans Yarrapower’s preparation had been slightly interrupted and he would have preferred to give the gelding one more gallop coming into to today’s race. Both explanations were noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 2: CNW WORKING WITH THE ISA CLASS 3 PLATE 1200m
Our Crimson Lad – Trainer Mr C Hampton was fined the sum of $100.00 under LR67 for late declaration of Jockey A Spradau.
Alik – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary inspection after becoming fractious in transit to the racecourse and was passed fit to start. Reluctant to load. Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority. On returning to the enclosure the blinkers were found to have become loose and shifted in running. A post-race Veterinary inspection revealed minor abrasions to the nearside stifle.
In Two Minds – Bled first time from both nostrils in running. Trainer’s Representative Ms T Parry  was advised the mandatory 3 months ban from racing would apply and that the gelding would be required to gallop 1000m satisfactorily in the presence of a Steward prior to again being permitted to start in a race. AR79.
Race 3: CNW MT ISA MAILMAN EXPRESS CUP QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200m

Southcurly –On returning to scale, Jockey J Babarovich reported that his saddle had shifted back prior to the home turn, placing him at a severe disadvantage over the concluding stages.
Tracy’s Echo – Jockey D Ballard reported that the mare, which performed below market expectations, had failed respond to his urgings over the concluding stages and in his opinion. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate.
