Race 1. MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
DUNTROON MAN – Due to an administrative error blinkers were not included as part of the gelding’s racing gear. Stewards permitted the use of that piece of gear and an on-course announcement to this effect was made. Slowly into stride.
DOLLADREAM – Raced wide for the majority.
LEGATO FEELING – Jockey T Hill advised that the mare, which was having its first start on the sand surface, had never travelled comfortably, resenting the kickback in running.
Race 2. RATINGS BAND 0-50 HANDICAP 1000m
ARFA CROWN – Shifted in soon after jumping inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Inclined to race ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Shifted wider approaching the 600m and raced wide from that point.

BOSS’S DAUGHTER – Shifted in marginally approaching the 600m placing a runner to its inside in restricted room. Jockey J Babarovich was advised to exercise mor care in similar circumstances. Jockey Babarovich advised that the mare, which was resuming from a spell, had never travelled comfortably in today’s soft conditions and had resented the kickback in running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SIZZLING TOUCH – Raced below market expectations. Jockey R McMahon advised that after struggling to maintain touch with the two leaders in the early and middle stages the gelding had finished off only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate. Trainer J Morris, who was of the opinion the gelding may have got its tongue over the bit in running, advised he will consider implementing a gear change prior to next race start.
