Race 1: CHEERS LIQUOR GROUP Maiden Plate 800m

FABERGE LASS – jumped away slowly

CYCLONE MIA – was slow into stride and raced wide throughout

ARCHING HARD – raced 3 in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding found to have been galloped on and some minor lacerations to the off hind cannon.

LIFE’S A WITCH – was inconvenienced by another runner approaching the 300m and had to be steadied. App. M Kennedy was reminded of her obligations when allowing her mount to shift.

HE’Z TITILLATING – near the 600m App. M Kennedy allowed her mount to shift in marginally on to LIFE’S A WITCH racing to its inside, resulting in mare shifting in and inconveniencing ON A COMET resulting in its rider H English having to steady from the heels. App.M. Kennedy , rider of HE’Z TITILLATING, was severely reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift ground causing minor interference.

MASK STEPENNY – Hung out rounding the home turn

HARLEIGH – raced wide throughout

Race 2: NANANGO RSL/GARRY & MARGARET BANKS MEMORIAL B’Mark 60 H’Cap 1000m

EARL OF FORDYCE – was slow into stride

DAVE’S VALOR – Became fractious in the mounting enclosure dislodging its rider and making contact with a rail. The mare underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Jumped away awkwardly

COONOWRIN RUBY – raced wide throughout

ORLEANS – Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted by the rider. App. A Bakos aboard ORLEANS. App A Bakos advised that after being hampered shortly after the start she had elected to ride her mount with cover however gelding in her opinion did not appreciate the firm going of today’s track. App A Bakos advised that when she applied pressure to her mount in appeared that ORLEANS responded and finished the race off well. Stewards accepted the explanation offered by apprentice Bakos however reminded her that when in similar circumstances stewards would expect to see her apply pressure and test her mount earlier as to not lose touch with the rest of the field.

JACK OF SPADES – raced wide throughout

CLOSE ENOUGH – the rider advised that he had concerns with the mares action in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare found to have a suspensory injury to its off-fore leg. The trainer was advised that a Vet clearance will be required PTNS

Race 3: HERITAGE BANK NANANGO Class B H’Cap 1200m

Prior to the declaration of correct weight a protest was lodged by App. S Wilcock the rider of 2nd place getter BRUTUS alleging interference approaching the 600m and again when rounding the home turn from the 1st place getter DULCIE TIE. After reviewing race footage and considering the evidence from the riders and connections, stewards found that whilst BRUTUS was inconvenienced approaching the 600m it appeared the App S Wilcock was attempting to take a narrow run that closed prior to her establishing the run which resulted in BRUTUS being steadied from the heels of DULCIE TIE. Approaching the home turn it appeared that both BRUTUS and DULCIE TIE hung out slightly round the turn however neither rider was hampered at that point of the race. Stewards could not be satisfied either incident was sufficient to reverse the placings the protest was dismissed and correct weight given

DULCIE TIE – was slow to begin, hung out slightly rounding the home turn

BRUTUS – inconvenienced approaching the 600m and has to be steadied from heels, hung out slightly round the home turn

JESSINA – steadied from heels leaving he 600m

TARWYN BLUE – raced wide throughout

ANGEL OF LEON – raced wide throughout

Race 4: TAB BATTLE OF THE BUSH NANANGO QUALIFIER OPEN Plate 1200m

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow stewards, T Banks the rider of BAKER BOY, the starter, and the horse’s connections, to view the patrol footage of the start of the race to determine whether BAKER BOY had been afforded a fair start. After taking evidence from all parties and reviewing the video it was established that BAKER BOY had jumped awkwardly making contact with the barrier partition, resulting in the gelding being slow away of its own accord. Stewards were satisfied that the gelding was afforded a fair start and declared it a runner.

DAYTIME DANCER – laid in under pressure in the concluding stages

TYCOON ZIP – laid in under pressure from the 100m

LIL RUBY ROSE – steadied from the heels of a weakening runner leaving he 100m

AVALANCHE WARNING – weakened over in the last 100m

Race 5: NANANGO VET SURGERY B’Mark 60 H’Cap 1600m

HAMMERACK – slow to begin, shifted wider approaching the 150m to obtain clear running

QUEEN CONSORT – raced wide throughout

ARIGOLD – jumped awkwardly
