Race 1: CALIBRE EARTHMOVING & ENVIRONMENTAL PTY LTD CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1600M
 
CLOUDS – Bumped and dipped at the start.
 
INDELO – When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, J. Stanley stated that although his mount travelled well, it was inclined to lay out on the home turn, however, when he pulled the whip through and placed the horse under pressure, it failed to respond and was disappointing.
 
INFANTRY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Lost its near fore plate during the running of the event.
 
AUTHADANE – Began awkwardly and shifted out on to GLADISHING, which was taken out on to CLOUDS, which dipped.
 
GLADISHING – Bumped at the start and taken out on to another runner.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 3 retrospective.
 
Race 2: THINKWATER/WANDAL NEED AND FEED CLASS 6 PLATE – 1100M
 
HUNCHA DUNCHA – Slow to begin. Laid in over the concluding stages and made contact with TURKEY BEACH, which was placed in restricted room and had to ease from the heels of SHROUDED. Jockey M. Barnham was advised to use greater effort to prevent his mounts from shifting in.
 
TURKEY BEACH – Bumped over the concluding stages, placed in restricted room and had to ease from the heels of SHROUDED.
 
PARTY PARDEE – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3: ST PETER’S CAULFIELD CUP BIRDCAGE MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed when NEED A WARRANT was difficult to load.
 
The start was further delayed when LOOSE NUT was removed from the barriers and its gear was inspected.
 
OTTIS – Made contact with NEED A WARRANT at the start.
 
MEET HARRY – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
NEED A WARRANT – Made contact with OTTIS at the start.
 
Race 4: BUTTON BROTHERS RACING QTIS 2YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1050M
 
HOT CHOCOLATE – J. Stanley dropped his whip near the 300m. Jockey Stanley reported that his mount was inclined to lay in over the final 200m.
 
DESPIRITO – Made contact with SAY PLEASE on jumping. Bumped by another runner near the 150m.
 
SHENRON – Bumped with MISS NASTY on two occasions in the early stages of the straight.
 
CRAIGLEA RUBBLE – Raced wide with cover. Taken wider by another runner near the 900m.
 
SAY PLEASE – Made contact with DESPIRITO on jumping. Commenced to race ungenerously shortly after the start and strode awkwardly for a number of strides. A warning will be placed on the horse. Raced greenly in the straight.
 
ZLOTO – After beginning with the field the horse threw its head and raced ungenerously, shifted out abruptly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The horse will be required to trial prior its next start.
 
KIMMIE KAY – Hung out from the 900m, taking CRAIGLEA RUBBLE wider, and then raced wide for the remainder of the event.
 
MISS NASTY – Bumped with SHENRON on two occasions in the early stages of the straight. Inclined to lay in in the straight and near the 150m laid in and away from SHENRON, making contact with DESPIRITO.
 
Race 5: BEEF AUSTRALIA 2018 QTIS 3YO H'CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed when CRAIGLEA CETINA was fractious and got its head down in its barrier. The horse was removed, underwent a veterinary inspection and was cleared to start.
 
TWO AMOR – Hampered shortly after the start. Raced wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, N. Day stated that after being hampered at the start, which he considered was detrimental to his mount’s performance, he was able to position the horse well in the race. Jockey N Day added that the horse made up some ground in the middle stages but yielded ground in the straight and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
JUSTALAD – Slow to begin.
 
HIMALAYAN SALT – Shifted in slightly shortly after the start and hampered TWO AMOR.
 
GRAND EDGEROI – Dipped shortly after the start.
 
CRAIGLEA CETINA – Began awkwardly and raced ungenerously for a short distance and lost some ground. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 6: 30 DAYS OF GRATITUDE – JAIME PARNELL OPEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
DECONSTRUCTED – A little slow to begin and raced wide without cover.
 
GLENTHORN AVENUE – Dipped near the 900m.
 
MAMSELLE CORDAY – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the race.
 
Race 7: KOREAN HORSEMAN HIGH SCHOOL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1100M
 
Apprentice T. Brooker was dislodged from MISHNAH in the preliminary. After being loaded, the horse became extremely fractious, reared and appeared to strike its head. The horse was removed from the barriers, underwent a veterinary examination and declared a late scratching at 4:58 pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be distressed. The horse will be required to obtain veterinary clearance and barrier trial prior to its next start.
 
When MISHNAH was fractious, L. Tilley (FAST TRICK) was struck and underwent examination by the ambulance officers and cleared to fulfil his engagement.
 
Because of MISHNAH being fractious in the barriers, FREE DROP kicked out in the barriers a number of times. The horse was removed, underwent a veterinary inspection and declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 4:58 pm. A post-race veterinary examination revealed bruising to both hind legs.
 
On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on MISHNAH and FREE DROP be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:

26 cents in the dollar for the Win #2
18 cents in the dollar for place of winner #2
24 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #4
27 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #6
 
 
BRING ME LUCK – Raced wide without cover.
 
FAST TRICK – A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the skin near its eye. Trainer C. Garland indicated that the horse would now be spelled.
