Race 1: Origin Game 2-Live on the Big Screen Maiden Handicap 1050m
 
SHEZROYAL - Jockey T. Chambers advised she was to be overweight and was replaced by Apprentice M. Murphy. Jockey Chambers was fined $100.  Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
HAMMERFEST – Slow to begin. 
 
FORTYSHORT – Laid out leaving the 400m and was unable to be fully tested to the line.
 
IT’S DRY – Raced wide with cover.
 
FAY ELEMENT – Raced wide with cover. Shifted ground in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off foreleg.  Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate would be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
 
CALZAGHE PRINCE – Raced wide without cover. 
 
KNIGHT FIGHT – Raced 4 wide without cover.
 
Race 2: CQ Capras Benchmark 70 Handicap 1400m
 
FUTUREAL – Had blood in its mouth on leaving the enclosure due to a small cut on its tongue. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey M. Hellyer stated the mare was disappointing, however was able to obtain the lead easily and travelled well throughout, however failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no other abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with trainer R. Vale regarding the performance of the horse.
 
BARACHIEL – Slow to begin.
 
NO EFFORT NEEDED – Raced wide until near the 900m when the mare took up a position outside the leader.
 
FAR NORTH – Had difficulty obtaining clear running for the majority of the straight, and inside the 200m shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
Race 3: Coaltrain QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap 1400m
 
BARBADOS STORM – Trainer T. Button was fined $100 for failing to declare L. Tilley as the rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
JUSTALAD – Jockey M Haley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR118C(c), in that when he weighed out for his ride on the horse he did so without a safety vest in an effort to deceive the Clerk of Scales.  In assessing penalty, stewards took on board his guilty plea and good record, that the offence was of a serious nature, and the fact this was a TAB meeting, and subsequently jockey Haley was fined the sum of $500. Jockey M. Stephens was the replacement rider for the horse.
 
UMAWINNER – Began awkwardly.  Held up over the concluding stages and unable to be fully tested.
 
STYLISH CRIMNAL – Slow to begin, then tightened between runners shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the improved performance of the horse, Trainer J. Pointon advised that the horse appreciated the step up in distance of and that the rider was suited to the horse. Mr Pointon further stated that following its previous start, the filly was found to be suffering a virus, which had effected its performance, and had subsequently received treatment. Mr. Pointon was fined $200 for failing to advise of this condition as required and which had effected its performance (AR 140A (c))
 
HOURGLASS TIME – Held up until near the 150m.
 
SPRING CREEK – Raced wide without cover.
 
TOXOPHILY – Raced wide with no cover throughout.
 
BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Raced wide until the 800m, when pressured to race in a forward position.
 
RIO ROSIE – Near the 350 metres, improved to the inside of NOW ASK ME and bumped that horse. Jockey J. Stanley reported his mount was inclined to hang out throughout.
 
NOW ASK ME – When contacted by another runner, rolled out near the 350 metre and took  UMAWINNER out, causing HOURGLASS TIME to be tightened.  Jockey W. D’Avila, rider of NOW ASK ME, reported after this incident his horse had failed to travel well for the remainder of the race.  
 
HOURGLASS TIME – Tightened for room near the 350 metres.
Race 4: NRG Industrial Class 6 Plate 1100m
 
ANNIE’S OUR HERO – As Apprentice M. Murphy was to be overweight, he was replaced by jockey H. English.  Given the weight and circumstances involved, Apprentice  Murphy was issued with a reprimand for being overweight.
 
DEVILS PINCH -  Change of tactics. Trainer L. Hatch reported that the horse had raced handy at its previous starts, however he would instruct the rider to endeavour to obtain a position midfield or worse today in order for the horse to finish the race off.  The horse raced 3 wide without cover and raced in a handy to midfield position.
 
MALKARA – Raced 4 wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SHIGERU MAHOGANY – Jockey J. Stanley advised at the scales that the horse had travelled well and was able to obtain a forward position easily, however from the 400m was under pressure and failed to respond to his riding. He added that he held concerns for the horse over the concluding stages and did not ride it out any further. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Race 5: Undamine Industries BenchMark 55 Handicap 1050m
 
RUSTY SCOOTER - Prior to the declaration of correct weight, jockey L. Tilley viewed the photo finish for 2nd placing and was satisfied as to the Judge’s placings.
 
FAIRY WINGS –  Jockey M. Hellyer viewed the film of the start of the race. After doing so he did not wish to proceed with any objection. It was observed that the horse had lunged forward and struck the gate immediately prior to the start being effected, and the gated had opened prematurely, however the horse had not gained an advantage. Hampered at the start. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stewards consulted with the starter and the barriers were checked and retested prior to Race 6.
 
MYSTIC LAD – The barrier gate of the horse was slow to open, and on beginning jumped outwards, hampering FAIRY WINGS.
 
FAIRFACTS – Over the concluding stages was tightened between BRING ME LUCK and GOLFING, both of which shifted ground.
 
VAN WINKEL – Held up momentarily near the 200m.
 
GOLFING – Raced wide with cover.
 
SAMUEL JAMES – Raced without cover. 
 
WAY TOO SASSY – Raced wide without cover.
 
Race 6: Rockhampton Leagues Club BenchMark 55 Handicap 1300m
 
OUR CINDERELLA – Tightened at the start between SKY BROOK, which jumped outwards at the start, and HULK HENRY.
 
HULK HENRY – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
PROANE – Began awkwardly.
 
NASTY GAL – Raced wide with cover.
 
CAPTAIN ADRIATIC – Raced wide with cover.
 
I TRUST LAYLA – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
SKY BROOK – Jockey M. Hellyer reported his mount was inclined to over race throughout.
 
MISS MILES – Jockey T. Brooker was fined $200 for use of her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
DIRTY RASCAL –  On return to scale, it was observed the horse had bled from both nostrils.  As this was the first occasion on which the horse had bled, it would now be barred from racing for a period of 3 months, and must perform a satisfactory gallop before stewards before being permitted to return to racing.
 
Race 7: JRT Group Tattersalls Gold Cup Open Handicap 1600m 
 
LET ME SAY THIS – Slow into stride.
 
MAMSELLE CORDAY – Held up in the early stages of the straight.
 
BALBOA ROCKS – Laid out in the early stages of the straight, causing FASTNET FLYER to be hampered.
 
FASTNET FLYER – Hampered in the early stages of the straight and held up until near the 400m.
 
CLAIM THE THRONE – Raced wide without cover throughout .
