Race 1: 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Race Day Maiden Handicap 1100m
 
A WEE SHOCK – Proved difficult to load, delaying the start. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on its barrier manners. Jockey N. Seymour was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR 142, in that whilst his runner was unplaced he failed to weigh in as required and was fined $200.
 
A REAL GEM – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m
 
TOM’S STAR – Eased near the 800m.
 
GOLDEN MOUNT – Hung in, disappointed for a run and obliged to steady from the heels of THE VOLTO near the 400m.
 
MISS DE MIRAGE – Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the race.
 
THE VOLTO – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
 
FRUGAL - Significant market firmer. When questioned regarding the large volume of support for the gelding, trainer R Vale stated that today was its first start for his stable, it had not trialled officially or jumped out prior to today. It had been in his care for approximately 5 weeks, and had been working impressively on a public track. Trainer Vale stated that stable support was modest and whilst he expected a sound performance he was at a loss to explain its short price. Stewards noted his comments.
 
Race 2: XXXX Gold Class 2 Handicap 1300m
 
JUSTALAD -  Slow into stride. Overraced in the early stages due to a moderate speed. Obliged to steady from heels near the 900m and shifted wider.
 
JABROOK – Slow into stride. Jockey D. Evans was reminded of his obligations to ensure he fully tests his mounts to the finish of the race and not to leave his ride open to questioning.
 
MADRA RUA – Galloped on near the 900m. Underwent a post- race veterinary examination which established that the mare was suffering deep lacerations to the off side hock and was treated on course.
 
EARL OF FORDYCE – Began awkwardly. Improved onto heels approaching the 1000m and again near the 800m and obliged to steady due to a moderate speed.
 
 
Race 3: PKF Hacketts Class 6 Plate 1500m

BLOOMING TYCOON – Began awkwardly, making heavy contact with the barrier partition.
 
MALKARA – Rider reported the gelding was inclined to hang at various stages and shifted out noticeably near the 100m.
 
TURKEY BEACH – Approaching the 1000m threw its head in the air and raced ungenerously for a short distance when its rider elected to ease and take cover. Jockey R. Wiggins was reprimanded pursuant to AR137(a) in that he was careless in permitting his mount to shift in with 100m remaining and tighten RISE TO FAME which was improving to his inside.
 
FLAT TO STACK – Hung in over the final 150m.
 
POTEMKIN – Shifted in near the 250m.
 
RISE TO FAME – Held up approaching the 300m. Shifted in in an attempt to obtain clear running between MALKARA and POTEMKIN however was disappointed and obliged to ease to the outside of POETMKIN approaching the 200m. Shortly after was tightened when racing ungenerously and hanging in when attempting a run between TURKEY BEACH and POTEMKIN near the 100m. Jockey Evans then eased wider on the course to obtain a clear run to the finish. Jockey Evans reported that the gelding raced with its head high and hung at various stages of the event.
 
 
Race 4: Butlers Partners (Regional) Pty Ltd BenchMark 65 Handicap 1814m
 
LADY NO MORE -  Overraced and obliged to steady near the 1300m.
 
PERFECTLY ALIGNED - Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
 
Race 5: J and C Legh General Engineering QTIS Three-Years-Old 0-60 Handicap 1050m
 
RUBY GEORGIE – Began awkwardly.
 
SHENRON – Fractious in the gates and reared on numerous occasions. Removed from the gates and underwent a veterinary examination and passed fit to start.
 
TARAKI – Held up between the 600m and 400m before realising a tight run between SPENDING FRENZY and OUR GIRL FIFI near the 300m
 
CRAIGLEA ELLA – Fractious and reared in the gates. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and passed fit to start.
 
ZLOTO – Began awkwardly before mustering speed. Steadied from heels near the 800m.
 
MISS MANIBEL – Raced 3 wide early.
 
OUR GIRL FIFI – Hung in near the 400m and bumped on the hind quarters by another runner.
 
SPENDING FRENZY – Bumped near the 400m.
 
 
Race 6: SA and MJ Stevens Hay Supplies 0-55 Handicap 1050m  
 
SKY BROOK – Began awkwardly and was inconvenienced near the 700m.
 
HEAVENLY DREAM – Began awkwardly. Checked near the 700m and lost ground.
 
FAIRY WINGS – Stumbled as the start was effected. Steadied from heels when tiring near the 400m. Jockey R. Payne was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to  AR 137(a) in that she was careless in permitting FAIRY WINGS to shift in near the 700m and check HEAVENLY DREAM  which was racing to her inside and thus causing interference to SKY BROOK which was trailing. Stewards, after considering the severity of the interference and reviewing jockey Payne’s riding record, suspended her licence to ride in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 27 October, and to expire at midnight, 4 November.  
 
GOLFING - Held up near the 400m. Hung in, tightening runners to its inside near the 200m.
 
SCRIVANO – Shifted ground and tightened when placed under pressure near the 200m.
 
LIKER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
METERO’S MAN – Raced wide for the majority of the race, shifted in near the 200m, obliging its rider to straighten.
 
 
 
Race 7: Rockhampton Business Machines Class 6 Handicap 1050m   
 
TIMETUS – Held up near the 500m, then obliged to ease wider to obtain clear running.
