CRAIGLEA BARON (Race 2) and LAST CHANCE (Race 6) both raced without blinkers contrary to what had been advertised in the some publications.
Race 1: Capricornia Yearling Sales Breeders Plate QTIS Two-Years-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1050m
BONNY’S TREASURE – Bumped as the start was effected.
BETTER REFLECTION – Bumped as the start was effected.
CRAIGLEA TOPAZ – Improved rapidly and obliged to steady from heels near the 800m, and then shifted wider on the course.
BRIGALOW QUEEN – Hung in noticeably over the final 250m and proved difficult for its jockey to ride out over the concluding stages. Lost both hind plates in running.
Race 2: Capricornia Yearling Sales Breeders Plate QTIS Two-Years-Old Colts & Geldings Maiden Plate 1050m
ESPEREUS – Began awkwardly.
ATTARD – Slow into stride.
CRAIGLEA BARON – Slow into stride. Raced 3 wide with cover.
HEZHOME – Slow into stride. Raced greenly over the final 200m. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
MALVAGIO – Disappointed for a run approaching the 600m. Shifted out under pressure over the final 200m.
MIA SINGA – Raced 4 wide for the majority of the race.
Race 3: Winstondale Spraying Contractors Ratings Band 0-6- Handicap 1050m
UNCANNY REASON – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
DEUS – Slow into stride.
CRAIGLEA CETINA – Stood flatfooted as the start was effected, lost significant ground, taking no competitive part in the event. Connections were advised that a barrier certificate would be required prior to its next race start.
GOLFING – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
WORTH THE TIME – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
TOECANARGIE MAN – Which started favourite in today’s event and finished in 4th position, underwent a veterinary examination which determined that the gelding had a slow post-race recovery, however no other apparent abnormalities were detected.
Race 4: QLD Gov – RQ Recognition Open Handicap 1050m
GYPSY SECRET – Scrambled as the start was effected and lost ground.
PARADIS IMPERIAL – Blundered as the start was effected.
MAMSELLE CORDAY – Held up for clear running between the 600 and 500m.
COURT CLOWN – Jockey R Wiggins eased the gelding down leaving the 400m when it felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery but no other apparent abnormalities. Trainer R. Vale advised that he was disappointed with the geldings performance and would have blood tests carried out in the ensuing days and would advise stewards if any abnormalities were detected which may have had a bearing on today’s performance.
Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
Race 5: DLV Finance Maiden Handicap 1200m
HOVE ACTUALLY – Overraced and steadied near the 800m.
ADAYONDEK – Fractious in the gates, reared then sat down momentarily. Underwent a pre- race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
WHOOSH – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in as the start was effected. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
DOSSIER – Hampered after the start and lost ground. Slow to muster early speed. When asked to comment regarding its performance, jockey R. Wiggins was of the opinion that the gelding was one paced and would appreciate distances further than today’s journey.
SUJANI – Hampered after the start and lost ground.
RECONIS – Hampered after the start and lost ground. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
JAZZANCO – Hampered after the start and lost ground. Steadied approaching the 750m.
CALZAGHE PRINCE – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
Race 6: 30 Days of Gratitude QTIS Three-Years-Old Handicap 1100m
MARWAY – Reared in the gates, dislodging its rider. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and subsequently declared a late scratching on vets advice at 4.43 pm, and with the following deductions applicable. Connections were advised that a barrier certificate would be required prior to its next race start.

Jockey B. Pengelly was assessed by QAS officers and was found to have suffered abrasions to the knee, and was complaining of lower back pain, however was not transported to hospital. Jockey Pengelly was advised he would be required to provide a medical clearance prior to the resumption of race riding. Pre race veterinary examinations of RAUNCHY WOMAN and GYPSY TOFF, which were drawn alongside of MARWAY, passed the horses fit to start.
LAST CHANCE – Began awkwardly. Hung in noticeably over the final 400m and proved difficult to ride.
TARAKI – Began awkwardly.
CRAIGLEA GALIO – Began awkwardly.
LADYEYE – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
Race 7: XXXX Gold BenchMark 65 Handicap 1300m
RUSTY SCOOTER – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
JUSTALAD – Began awkwardly and shifted out near the 900m.
JAY JAY – Hung in before being corrected by its rider near the 1100m.
MURRANJI – Tightened for racing room approaching the 1100m and when approaching the 800m obliged to steady when overracing. Failed to run on over the concluding stages.
BLAZERAY- Bumped and shifted wider near the 900m.
HOURGLASS TIME – Failed to run on over the concluding stages and proved disappointing. Rider jockey J. Stanley elected to ease the gelding leaving the 400m stating that, in his view, the mare did not appreciate today’s firm track conditions.
