GENERAL
 
As no riders were available, the following horses were declared late scratchings at 8:08 am by order of stewards:

Race 1: CARLY-MAE MEMORIAL OPEN H'CAP – 1300M
 
The start of this race was delayed due to a dog being loose on the inside of the racetrack.
 
BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Disappointed for a run on entering the home straight in the vicinity of the 600m.
 
CONCA DEL SOGNO – Laid in under pressure in the straight. Rider L. Tilley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(c) of making a celebratory gesture prior to the finishing line and was fined $200.
 
WINSOMEMORE – Had to be steadied in the vicinity of the 1000m after improving on to the heels of ZATORIO.
 
Race 2: ADLEC CLASS 4 PLATE – 1600M
 
CAVELLTON – Stood flat-footed as the start was effected and as a result was slow to begin. Trainer Mr A. Coome was advised that a warning would be placed on the record of CAVELLTON.
 
RHYOLA – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
CELOSIA – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Race 3: CHEVRON STEAM LAUNDRY CLASS 3 PLATE – 1200M
 
MAGIC WU – Jumped away awkwardly, making contact with the outside partition of the barriers.
 
DON’T DOUBT MAEVE – When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, B. Pengelly stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight and went to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
MISS DE MIRAGE – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
RESET EXPRESS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not beginning in the past 12 months and was passed fit to start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
CSARDAS – Obliged to steady in the vicinity of the 800m after improving on to the heels of MUTOMBO.
 
Race 4: OSHEN YEPPOON QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1050M
 
GLOBAL FUGITIVE – Jumped away awkwardly, contacting the inside partition of the barriers. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
KING KAI – Jumped away awkwardly and shortly thereafter shifted in, contacting LADY AKNA, and became awkward in its stride after contacting its hindquarters. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
ASCOT PRINCESS – Jockey J. Grob was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out to the finish.
 
Race 5: THE ROCKS, BAR AND RESTAURANT YEPPOON QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1050M
 
CRAIGLEA DANIEL – Slow to begin and shortly after jumping away was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY, which shifted in abruptly. Momentarily inconvenienced in the vicinity of the 250m by THREE STRIPES, which shifted out whilst racing greenly.
 
THREE STRIPES – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight. Shifted out in the vicinity of the 250m when insufficiently clear of CRAIGLEA DANIEL. Rider L. Tilley was reminded of his obligations to stop riding and straighten his mounts when shifting ground in future.
 
KEPTINTHEDARK – Hampered on jumping away.
 
FLYING BLONDE – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
DANDY PRINCESS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
CRAIGLEA RAFFERTY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
Race 6: REXEL ELECTRICAL SUPPLIERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
COMMANDER’S WATCH – When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, jockey J. Grob stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and went to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no visible abnormalities.
 
DREAM PIECE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
HUMBLE AND KIND – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
PETITE EDITION – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, contacting SAY PLEASE. Had to be restrained in the vicinity of the 100m.
 
SAY PLEASE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, contacting PETITE EDITION. Shifted out in the vicinity of the 100m when insufficiently clear of PETITE EDITION. Rider S. Wiseman was reprimanded.
 
GIRRAH LASS – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: CONDON FINANCIAL CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1400M
 
GYPSY BIKER – Jockey L. Tilley stated that it was his intention to ride the horse midfield with cover, as per its usual racing pattern, but after beginning well was able to lead in today’s event and as such reported to trainer L. Applewaite to continue in an attempt to race in a positive position for the remainder of its preparation.
 
TONTEIN – Had to be restrained in the vicinity of the 1000m after improving on to the heels of ULTIMATE GOLD.
 
DESPIRITO – When questioned regarding his riding over the concluding stages, jockey J. Grob stated that his mount began to weaken from the vicinity of the 200m and as such he elected to not ride his mount out over the concluding stages. Stewards advised jockey Grob that unless he has concerns with the actions of his mount, to continue to ride his mounts out for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
FINUCANE MISSILE – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
