Race 1: Suncoast Hotels Maiden H’cap – 1400m
 
LAMPLIGHT LILI – Trainer B. Hull was fined $100 for failing to produce the Document of Description for the horse.
 
BEYOND STYLE – Slow to begin.
 
GINGO – Slow to begin.
 
BONNEY LORES – Lost off hind plate en route to the barriers and was unable to be reattached prior to the start and raced without being plated on the off hind hoof.
 
UNDAUNTED – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount, which finished a distant last,  hung out for the majority of the race.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that the gelding  must undergo an ECG, provide a veterinary clearance, and must trial  satisfactorily prior to its next race start.  
 
SHOWSCAY – Bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding has bled, connections were advised it will now incur a lifetime bar from racing.
 
 
Race 2: Happy 30th Nadia Class 3 H’cap – 1400m
 
BELLBOY EXPRESS - Trainer B. Currie  was fined $100 for failing to produce the Document of Description for the horse.  Slow to begin.
 
DAZZLE EM SID – Raced 3 wide in the early stages before being allowed to stride forward and assume a position outside the lead leaving the 1000m.  Laid in during  the early stages of the home straight and again approaching the 100m.
 
LE MATTAN –  Whilst stewards were satisfied that his actions had not had a bearing on the finishing positions of his mount, jockey Hellyer was reminded of  his obligations to fully test his mounts to the conclusion of the event.
 

Race 3: Direct Chemist Outlet Maiden H’cap – 2200m
 
TERRORFILO – Slow to begin.
 
HEZ EKCEPTIONAL – Jumped awkwardly.
 
THE GROGFATHER – Slow to begin.
 
WENDOUREE RED – Raced greenly in the early stages.
 
MATCH DAY – Forced wider from the 600m and bumped on a number of occasions approaching the 400m and as a result became very unbalanced.  M. McGillivray, rider of TERRORFILO, was reprimanded for shifting ground when not clear.
 
SAVVY ACQUISITION – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
DOSSIER – Jockey R. Wiggins reported his mount did not travel well in the middle stages and was obliged to pressure the horse throughout the event.
 
ROCKUZZO – Trainer B. Hudson reported following the event the horse would now be sent for a spell.
 
Following this event the track rating was upgraded to Good 3.
 
 
Race 4: Sneaky Baron Class 1 H’cap – 1800m
 
HAVEN DUKE – After making contact with barriers during the preliminary  was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
THE CANDY MAN – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground.  Trainer B. Baldwin was advised that a  barrier certificate must be obtained for the horse prior to its next race start.
 
FRANKEL STAR – Slow to begin. Following the event, trainer G. Newham advised the gelding pulled up shin sore.
 
TRAINSPOTTING – Overraced in the early stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance, including the results of an ECG to be provided, and the gelding must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
 
Race 5: Digital Vision Direct Class 5 H’cap – 1600m
 
SEENTO – Raced wide in the early stages. Commenced to overrace from the 1300m and was then permitted to stride forward to the lead passing the 1000m.
 
SAINT PATRICKS DAY – Laid in from the 600m, placing its rider at a disadvantage in the home straight as a result.
 
SCOUTABOUT – When attempting to secure clear running approaching the 400m, initiated contact with another runner an remained held up for clear running until the 300m. Cast its near fore plate in running.
 
SPIRAL – Bumped by another runner approaching the 400m and continued to be buffeted by that runner until the 300m.
 
 
Race 6: King Of Knives  QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap  - 1400m
 
ALMONDELLA – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the filly would be ridden on speed if circumstances permit. The filly jumped away awkwardly and then was ridden aggressively  to obtain a position just behind the lead passing the 900m.
 
SCILAGO – Slow to begin. Had some difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn when forced to avoid the heels of the weakening JETSEVENTEEN.  
 
YOURGUNAHEARMEROAR – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MYSTIC CITY – Which was slow to begin, was checked shortly after the start when tightened for room.
 
IAMPAIDFOR – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
SOWHAT IMAROCKSTAR – Slow to begin.
 
TIGERPOWER – Steadied from heels near the 1200m.
 
SHOW DECK – Near the 1200m raced with its head in the air whilst being restrained to obtain cover.
 
MISTA LONGHORN – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
ACEMAN – Raced wide without cover. Bled from the nearside nostril due to a small laceration.
 
OCEAN WAVES – Raced wide without cover. Jockey D. Browne reported his mount raced greenly throughout. Cast its off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 7: Digital Vision Direct Class 2 H’cap – 1000m
 
DUELLATOR – Bumped on jumping away after beginning awkwardly.
 
ALL LOVE – Slow to begin.
 
THE BUMBLEBEE – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey J. Lloyd, rider of SOLTINHO LAD, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding, in that over the concluding stages  after directing the gelding out, he allowed his mount to shift out under whip pressure, resulting in THE BUMBLEBEE being tightened for room and causing the rider of that horse to take hold and  lose its rightful running to the inside of DON’T STUTTER.   Jockey Lloyd was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight, 13 January and to expire at midnight, 21 January. Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
BLACK CRUSADE – Bumped on jumping away.
 
SOLTINHO LAD – Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
FLIM FLAN MAN – Raced wide without cover.
 
TEAGZ – Jockey T. Harrison reported at scale that her mount got its tongue over the bit.   A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be making an abnormal upper respiratory noise. Trainer M. Mair was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. Mr Mair indicated he would experiment with the use of a tongue-tie prior to its next race start.
