Race 1 – Butler McDermott Lawyers Bruce McLachlan Classic QTIS 2yo
H’cap – 1000m
 
OUR SWAN LAKE – Cast its off hind plate when proceeding to the barriers and had to be replated behind the gates. Examined by the veterinary surgeon and was cleared to start.  Raced wide without cover throughout. Bled both nostrils during the event. Connections were advised that the filly would be barred from racing for a period 3 months.
 
CHILL THE BEER - Approaching the 300m shifted out to improve and made heavy contact with the hind quarters of KARAJA, which became unbalanced.  T. Brooker, rider of CHILL THE BEER, was advised to show greater care when shifting ground in future.
 
KARAJA – Bumped heavily and became unbalanced approaching the 300m.
 
BETTER THAN MAGIC – Raced wide throughout.
 
WELL PREPARED – A post race veterinary examination  of the colt, which was eased down in the straight, revealed it to be lame in the near foreleg.  Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be provided prior to its next race start.
 
JEWELIANA – A post race veterinary examination revealed increased lung sounds.
Race 2 – XXXX Gold Open H’cap – 1000m
 
BACHELOR’S ART – Slow to begin.
 
TYCOON ACE – When questioned, apprentice B. Nothdurft stated his mount travelled well, however failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure, and, in his opinion, raced like a horse that may need a break due to  some recent hard runs.  Trainer T. Sears advised that TYCOON ACE  had previously disappointed on a heavy track at the Sunshine Coast, and indicated he would  spell the gelding and give it a let up. He also undertook to report to stewards any abnormalities that come to his attention in the days following the race that may have had a bearing on horse’s  performance today. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3 – The Wharf Mooloolaba Benchmark 85 H’cap – 1600m
 
QUEEN OF KINGSTON – Jockey M. McGuren reported his mount failed to handle today’s track conditions and for  that reason did not respond to his riding in the straight.
 
 
Race 4 – BOQ Maroochydore Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1400m
 
VICTORY EIGHT – Broke through the barriers and galloped a short distance. Was quickly recaptured, examined by the veterinary surgeon behind the barriers and cleared to start.  
 
ANGEL DANE – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.  Trainer S. Tregea was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the horse prior to its next race start.
 
DANZIE – Slow to begin and lost significant ground. Trainer S. Morrissey was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to its next race start.
 
ALL THAT IS – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
SEENTOOMANY – Slow to begin. Held up in the early part of the home straight and was obliged to shift out in order to improve.
 
MR BELLAGIO – Held up in the early part of the home straight.
 
RED BALTER – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount was inclined to hang out for a major part of the race.
 
AKAGE – Jockey B. Stewart pleaded guilty to a charge under AR228(b) in that prior to the running of this race he misconducted himself by speaking to the starter in an aggressive and inappropriate  manner, in that he used  profanities on a number of occasions.  Jockey Stewart was fined $400.
 
 
 
 
Race 5 – Yalumba Wines Winter Provincial Sprinters Series (Final) Benchmark 80 H’cap – 1200m
 
SNIPSTREAM – Declared a late scratching at 3.20 pm on veterinary advice after the horse became cast in the barriers for a significant period of time.  The following deductions were applicable.
 
19 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
17 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for the win
14 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
14 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Connections were advised that a barrier certificate and  veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to  the horse being permitted to race again.  
 
The start was further delayed when a member of the barrier staff had to be attended to by the ambulance official.
 
BELLA OCCHI – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, bumping DENARIUS.
 
DENARIUS – Hampered at the start when bumped.
 
HI HARRY – Tightened for room and inconvenienced at the start.
 
RAIDEN – Checked soon after straightening.  Jockey D. Smith, rider of Denarius, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that soon after straightening he allowed that runner to shift out when not clear of RAIDEN.  Jockey Smith’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days, to commence at midnight, 6 July and to expire at midnight, 16 July.
 
MR STRACHAN – Raced wide throughout.
 
TARDIS – Raced wide throughout. Sprung the off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 6 – TAB Sunshine Coast Guineas 3yo Set Weighs No Claims
(Group 3) – 1600m
 
BLUE COMET – Restrained at the start from a wide barrier to obtain a position closer to the rail.
 
JUNIPAL – Unable to secure clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
MALAHIDE – Forced to race 4 wide without cover from the 900m.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities other  than  losing its near fore plate.
 
BACCARAT BABY  – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
ZAVANCE – Raced 3 wide with cover.
 
ASHARANI – Raced 3 wide throughout.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities other than losing its off fore plate in running.
 
SLEEPY HEART – Jockey J. Lloyd reported his mount failed to handle today’s heavy track conditions.
 
Race 7 – Kendrick Racing Caloundra Cup Quality No Claims (Listed) – 2400m
 
TRAVISTEE – As jockey T. Brooker was to be overweight, jockey R. Stewart was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey Brooker was fined the sum of $200.
 
GALAXY GURU – A pre-race veterinary examination cleared the horse to start.
 
TERRA SANCTA – Slow to begin.
 
SAUNTER BOY – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Near the 350m became awkward on the heels of BIG DUKE.

MYMMING  - When the pace steadied near the 1200m IGRAINE and EXOTERIC shifted 3 wide, which resulted in MYMMING being forced out and obliged to race 4 wide for the remainder of the race.
 
MASTER ZEPHYR – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
BIG DUKE – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
CASTERTON – Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
TUCANO – Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
 
Race 8 – Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites Glasshouse H’cap – 1400m
 
SNITCH – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
PLATINUM ANGEL – For some distance passing the 400m shifted out around the heels of MAGNUFIGHTER in order to improve and made heavy contact with SNITCH.
 
NICCANOVA – Near the 250m was held up behind PLATINUM ANGEL and MAGNUFIGHTER. Then had to be checked severely and alter course to the inside of shifted to the inside of MAGNUFIGHTER to improve.
 
MAGNUFIGHTER – Raced wide without cover.
 
SPLIT LIP – Raced wide without cover.
 
MANAYA – Lost its near hind plate in running.
