Race 1: NOOSA WATERFRONT Class 3 Plate 1400 metres
 
CHECKMATE LAD – Bounded at start.
 
TRUSTY LAD – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
IN GREAT NIC – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a throat abnormality. Trainer R Heathcote was advised that he must provide a Veterinary certificate for the mare, inclusive of the results of an endoscopic examination prior to racing.
 
 
Race 2: DR PATTERSON DERMATOLOGY NOOSA RATINGS BAND 0 - 68 Handicap 1600 metres
 
SHAKA ROCK – Rider A Mallyon reported that the gelding would appreciate a track with more give. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have congested lung sounds. Trainer K Fogden was advised that she must provide a Veterinary certificate for the gelding, inclusive of the results of an endoscopic examination prior to racing.
 
CABOCHON LIL - Rider R Maloney was fined $300 under the provisions of AR211 for returning to scale in excess than ½ kilogram overweight.
 
 
Race 3: FINCIERGE NOOSA CUP BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1400 metres
 
ONE FOR BETTY – Rider R Maloney reported the mare raced flat today and failed to finish as he expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities
 
PLUMARO – Slow to begin.
 
RED DOULTON – Rider M Cahill reported that he was positive in the early stages and was able to lead. He added that he was unable to restrain the gelding soon afterwards and led the main body of the field by a considerable distance. He further added that after passing the 800m he was able to get RED DOULTON to relax and subsequently it was able to finish the race off competitively.
 
TOP ME UP AGAIN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
 
Race 4: DOMIC Maiden Plate 1300 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed when KARAYER had to be resaddled upon arrival at the barriers.
 
SOME FAIRY SONG – Reared in the barriers and became cast. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching on Veterinary advice at 2.29pm. Trainer D Trindall was advised that SOME FAIRY SONG must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing due to its barrier manners.
 
EVA THE DIVA – Was in the barrier alongside SOME FAIRY SONG was kicked by that runner and was also declared a late scratching on Veterinary advice at 2.29pm.Trainer M Kerr was advised that as EVA THE DIVA had sustained a significant hock injury at the start, he would be required to provide a Veterinary certificate prior to racing.
 
All monies bet for a win and/or place betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

CENTENARY STAR – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
 
DAFEENAH – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
HANAZAKARI – Slow to begin.
 
MASAWU – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Broke free behind barriers and was quickly recaptured. Was examined by the veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
ORDESA – Slow to begin.
 
KOONUNGA HILL – Raced three wide without cover throughout
 
Rider V Venkaya (SOME FAIRY SONG) was examined by the on-course Doctor and passed fit to fulfil his future engagement.
 
 
Race 5: RAY WHITE COMMERCIAL NOOSA Class 1 Plate 1400 metres
 
BARITONE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race.
 
BULLTRUCK – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BOLD INSPIRATION – Steadied when tightened for room by CLEARANCE SALE (B Thompson) near the 1000m. Rider B Thompson (CLEARANCE SALE) was severely reprimanded under AR131(a) for carelessly permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear, and advised to show far greater care in the future.
 
EPICURIOUS – Slow to begin. Bumped by CLEARANCE SALE near 100m.
 
MADAME MO – Tactics queried, led. Rider B Stewart explained that he had no specific instructions and when the mare began well, he allowed it to stride forward to the lead.
 
CLEARANCE SALE – Shifted out away from MADAM MO near the 100m and bumped EPICURIOUS.
 
 
Race 6: CLO STUDIOS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
ANDY'S A STAR – A post-race veterinary examination of ANDY’S A STAR identified the presence of blood in both nostrils. Acting under AR79(4)The gelding shall not without the permission of the Stewards : (a) be trained, exercised or galloped on any racecourse for a period of two months; (b) start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward.
 
BILL THE CONQUEROR – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to start. Near the 900m, was checked and lost ground after being tightened by RERUN which had been carried in by EXPLOSIVE QUALITY (M Cahill).
 
RERUN – Tightened for room near 900m by EXPLOSIVE QUALITY. Shifted out to improve rounding the home turn when not fully clear of SOUBRETTE.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
SOUBRETTE – Steadied from the heels of RERUN (B Stewart) near 400m. Rider B Stewart (RERUN) was advised to show greater care when shifting ground.
 
Rider M Cahill (EXPLOSIVE QUALITY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a), the careless riding being that near the 900m he permitted EXPLOSIVE QUALITY to shift in when insufficiently clear of RERUN which was taken in across the rightful running of BILL THE CONQUEROR which had to checked. M Cahill’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 8 days to commence, midnight 4 October 2020 and to conclude midnight 12 October 2020. Stewards deemed the carelessness to be low range and took into account his guilty plea and record.
 
 
Race 7: MEDIMOBILE BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1000 metres
 
THE SINNER – Began well and as a result led today.
 
JAGGED EDGE – Rider B Nothdurft was questioned regarding the below market expectations performance. He explained that the gelding’s condition gave out over the final stages and it will take a fitness benefit from today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A post-race swab sample was taken for analysis.
 
KILLERMAN'S RUN – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PAY WITH CASH – Slow to begin, steadied shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
 
Race 8: HARCOURTS NOOSA Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
INCHEON EXPRESS – Broke through the barriers after being loaded. The gelding was withdrawn at 4.57pm acting on Veterinary advice. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that INCHEON EXPRESS must obtain a further barrier certificate before being permitted to race again.
 
All monies bet for a win and/or place betting on the late scratching to be refunded. All successful bets on horses prior to time of withdrawal are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket:

APPLECROSS – Shifted out at the start.
 
AT THE HELM – Shifted out abruptly under pressure passing 100m.
 
CALL ME TILLY – Slow to begin, checked shortly after start from the heels of APPLECROSS which shifted out.
 
ZOOFARI – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Bumped near 200m by ZOOFARI.
 
VINCIT – Raced wide without cover throughout. Rider S Lacy reported her mount was inclined to lay out throughout
 
CRAIGLEA KARLY – Raced four wide without cover throughout.
 
Following the running of the race Rider M Cahill (INCHEON EXPRESS) reported some shoulder soreness.
