SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Sunshine Coast 3 November 2020 Race 5 - Trainer D Bougoure advised stewards that FALVEY’S SPIRIT was found to have a high white blood cell count post race and will be treated with a course of anti-biotics.
 
GENERAL
 
 
Race 1: KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING Maiden Handicap 1600 metres
 
Start was delayed when ENTERPRISE MAXIMUS had to be resaddled.
 
INTENSE – Slow to begin. Rider B Thompson was questioned regarding the tactics adopted approaching the 600m, where it appear that he may have had opportunity to attempt to shift out and follow GOOD SOIZE, which had shifted out to improve. B Thompson stated that as INTENSE had been slow to begin, he was positioned further back than he had anticipated. Approaching the 600m he felt there was an opportunity to improve to the inside ENTERPRISE MAXIMUS which he believed was shifting wider at that point. However that horse did not shift to three wide as he had anticipated and caused INTENSE to race in restricted room  between runners and as a result was unable to improve until a point approaching the 200m. Stewards accepted the explanation.
 
WHY WOULDN'T YOU – Commenced to over race near the 1200m and raced wide until a point near the 750m.
 
WELL WELL WELL – Over raced for some distance from the 1200m to a point near the 1000m
 
ARJAYAR – Held up for clear running from the 500m to until a point approaching the 100m
 
MULTIMILLY – Forced wider and became awkward rounding the home turn.
 
WANTED MISS – Obliged to alter course near the 400m to obtain clear running.
 
 
Race 2: LIGGINS CONCRETING Class 1 Plate 1000 metres
 
Start delayed when AT THE HELM had an adjustment made the bit lifter.
 
DEEP STATE – Buffeted between runners and lost ground at the start. Rider C Taylor reported that gelding laid in throughout, particularly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LUCKY GO FIRST – Began awkwardly and shortly after was buffeted between runners and lost ground.
 
SEARCH AND DESTROY – Whilst rider M Crawford did not apply the whip behind the saddle, he was non the less admonished for his whip action in that he did not give his mount opportunity to respond when the whip was applied down the shoulder.
 
THE EXHIBITIONIST – Bumped by another runner near the 700m and became awkward and blundered.
 
CRAIGLEA KARLY – Began awkwardly and lost ground
 
LIZA WITH A ZEE – Lost the off hind plate in running. A post race veterinary examination of the filly identified a laceration to the off hind leg.  Trainer T Gollan was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
 
Race 3: HAPPY 19TH BIRTHDAY NATHAN SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES - HEAT BENCHMARK 7 1000 metres
 
 
PRINCE PLANET – Raced four wide without cover throughout
 
NIEWAND – Began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with BEWARE
 
TOTALLY CHARMED – Tightened between runners shortly after jumping and lost ground. Held up for clear running from the 600m. Had to be restrained from heels near the 500m and continued to be held up until approaching the 200m.
 
BEWARE – Bumped on jumping. Near the 800m became awkward and hung in and raced three wide without cover.
 
KILLERMAN'S RUN – Began awkwardly and blundered.
 
IMA TEAMBOY - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would incur a 3 month ban from racing and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
KATY'S DAUGHTER – Change of tactics Trainer M Hoysted advised Stewards the mare would be ridden further back than its previous starts. Raced accordingly.
 
 
Race 4:  KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
ROTHABYE – Raced in restricted in near the 150m. Stewards questioned both trainer K Hickmott and rider App. K Cowan in regards tactics adopted in which ROTHABYE lead, which was in contrast to its established racing pattern. App. K Cowan stated she had not been issued and firm instructions, other than not the be caught wide. She added that as the gelding had begun well she elected to ride the gelding aggressively early in order to cross to the lead. Trainer K Hickmott confirmed the instructions and Stewards noted the explanation.
 
ICONISTA – When asked to comment rider L Cassidy stated the mare was quite one paced and didn’t not quicken when asked for a response when entering the home straight. He adding that in his opinion ICONISTA would appreciate a step up in distance.
 
Race 5: KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING BENCHMARK 68 Handicap 1800 metres
 
CHECKMATE LAD – Commenced to over race from the 1000m until the 750m.
 
SILESIAN – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Rider J Bayliss reported that his saddle had shifted over the final 200m.
 
 
Race 6: LIGGINS CONCRETING Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
IRISH FIGURE – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start. Over raced badly in the early stages and had to be checked. A post race veterinary examination of IRISH FIGURE identified the presence of blood in one nostril. IRISH FIGURE shall, before racing again, be required to undergo a satisfactory gallop of at least 1,000 metres in the presence of a Steward. AR79(8).
 
MARCHEKY BOY – Tightened between runners shortly after the start. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn and became awkward when bumped by RAYSAND ROCKET.   Post race vet examination revealed MARCHEKY BOY to be exhibiting an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer B Gill was notified that he will be required to provide a Veterinary Clearance with satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination prior to the horse racing or trialing again.
 
RAYSAND ROCKET – Began awkwardly and shifted out making contact with MARCHEKY BOY. Raced greenly and rider D Smith reported that the horse was some what field shy. Shifted out and away from RED RIVER LAD rounding the home turn and as a result made contact with MARCHEKY BOY.
 
ATE HINCHES – Tightened between runners shortly after the start and had to be checked and lost ground.
 
FEND OFF – Over raced in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout.
 
I AM A BEAUTY – After obtaining cover near the 800m commenced to over race at heels and shifted out. Raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
MAGNATE - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
KING OF THE COAST - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Connections were advised that the horse would incur a 3 month ban from racing and must undertake a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of Stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
NOKONDI – Began awkwardly. Near the 1000m shifted in abruptly and made heavy contact with the inside running rail and became unbalanced.
 
RED RIVER LAD – Blundered on jumping. Raced ungenerously at heels near the 600m and was than inclined to hang out and shifted wider on the track round the home turn.
 
 
Race 7: KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 58 Handi 1300 metres
 
BOUNTY HUNTER – Began awkwardly shifted out and made contact with GALVARINO.
 
IAMPAIDFOR – Rider B Thompson reported that in his opinion the gelding was disappointing in its run to the line.
 
VINCIT – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
BLUEY'S READY – Over raced in the early stages.
 
GALVARINO – Tightened between runners shortly after the start and had to be checked and lost ground. Near the 600m shifted wider to improve and raced wide from that point onwards. After passing the 400m when inclined to lay in and was steadied from the heels of LETS TORQUE A DEEL which shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight and caused its rider to stop riding and straighten over the concluding stages.
 
LETS TORQUE A DEEL – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Steadied when placed in restricted room over the concluding stages between GALVARINO (L Cassidy) which was inclined to lay in and BOUNTY HUNTER (L Tarrant) which shifted out under pressure. L Tarrant rider off BOUNTY HUNTER was reprimanded under AR131(a) for failing to stop riding and straighten.
