GENERAL
Jockey R McMahon who was late arriving on course was severely reprimanded. AR128.
 
Race 1: TROPIC DISTRIBUTORS/HONEYCOMBES SALES & SERVICE/ABBOTT MEMORIAL CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1000m  
 
INCISION - Raced wide in the early and middle stages. 
 
ARCHADE – Raced wide rounding the 800m turn. 
 
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Jockey D Ballard who rode 2nd placegetter ARCHADE advised he wished to enter a protest against 1st placegetter HUNTING (J Barbarovich) on the grounds of alleged interference over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the various parties and viewing the available patrol footage Stewards were unable to establish sufficient evidence to uphold the protest and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s numbers.
 
Race 2: M D HUNTER EARTHMOVING/SUNCITY YAMAHA/G R TERRY MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m

BOLLENTE - Trainer R. Hermann was reprimanded for presenting the gelding with incorrect gear. AR106. Raced ungenerously in the early stages losing ground. Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
DELILAH’S DREAM – Slowly away. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
SOUTHCURLY – Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey J Babarovich, who also trains the gelding, advised it had failed to respond to his riding and compounded over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a dental injury but no other abnormalities.  Mr Babarovich undertook to notify Stewards if any condition which may have had a bearing on today’s performance becomes apparent in coming days.  
 
Race 3: NORTHERN RURAL GROUP LADIES BRACELET CLASS B HANDICAP 800m  
 
VELVET BROWN – Shifted out on jumping and bumped with another runner. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
AYLA’S ANGEL – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously rounding the home turn having to be restrained off heels.  . 
 
RED FACETS – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.
 
FLYING MAGIC – Hung out rounding the home turn. 
 
ONEMORE FOR WILSON – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Jockey D Ballard advised, in his opinion, the gelding would be suited at distances longer than that of today’s race.
 
Race 4: VOLVO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m 
 
GOING GREY – Shifted out after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
DUTTON BAY – Raced wide rounding the home turn. 
 
ECHELON ROSE – Raced wide rounding the home turn. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
Race 5: CAMPBELL'S GRAZING COMPANY/HUGHENDEN SPAR STAMFORD CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200m  
 
MYSTICAL RENEGADE – Proved difficult to load into the barriers. Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer Mr. K Krogh was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to next race start.
 
HEROISM – Slowly away. Raced wide rounding home turn. Was held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
