Race 1: THANGOOL CUP NOVEMBER 28TH BM55 HCP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed approximately 30 minutes to allow the on course veterinarian to attend to GREAT SHINE who required immediate veterinary attention.
 
MANILA MISS – Steadied off the heels of JETINTOIT shortly after jumping when DUAN PHOENIX shifted out abruptly.
 
JETINTOIT – Tightened on jumping when DUAN PHOENIX shifted out abruptly.
 
ULTIMATE GOLD – Checked when tightened for room shortly after the start when DUAN PHOENIX shifted out and PERFECT TIMES shifted in.
 
LIBERTY’S GIFT – Declared a late scratching at 8.25am due to no available rider.
 
AUTHADANE – In the vicinity of the 800m, commenced to hang out and had to be steadied off the heels of RATHER SILKY. Taken wider rounding the 700m when DUAN PHOENIX commenced to overraced and shifted out and as a result, travelled wide for the rest of the event.
 
PERFECT TIMES – Shifted in abruptly on jumping.
 
MY CERTAIN – Declared a late scratching at 8.25am due to no available rider.
 
DUAN PHOENIX – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Rounding the 800m turn, commenced to overrace and had to be steadied off the heels of BLAZING ASH and took AUTHADANE wider on the track. Rider C Rogers reported that her mount got its tongue over the bit during the event, placing her at a disadvantage throughout.
 
Race 2: MEMBERS OPEN HCP – 1200M
 
VOLUM – Approaching the 800m, commenced to hang in despite the efforts of its rider. Rider E Smith reported her mount raced greenly throughout and in her opinion, would benefit from the addition of winkers. Trainer P Brennan indicated he would experiment with the gear at VOLUM’S next start.
 
HAYYLER’S TARY – Approaching the 800m, had to be restrained when VOLUM hung in despite the efforts of its rider.
 
VALFIERNO – In the vicinity of the 800m, had to be steadied off the heels of VOLUM who hung in despite the efforts of its rider. Rider C Rogers reported that she felt her mount choked down in the concluding stages and would now experiment with gear.
 
Race 3: OWNERS & TRAINERS BM60 HCP – 1600M
 
SIDETRIP – Approaching the 1400m, had to be steadied off the heels of TOM’S STAR when the pace slackened.
 
COACH – When questioned regarding the poor performance, rider M Gray his mount travelled well throughout but when asked for an effort, failed to respond and proved disappointing. Trainer R Hay stated that he could offer no excuse for the poor performance, but would undertake to report to stewards on the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
TOM’S STAR – Overraced in the early stages.
 
MYSTERY ELEMENT – Raced wide throughout.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Slow to begin.
 
GREAT SHINE – Declared a late scratching at 12.00pm after injuring itself en route to the track and found to be lame in the off hind. Trainer C Rogers was advised GREAT SHINE would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next start.
 
Race 4: SIMMONS BAKERY MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
 
FREEDOM ROCK – Steadied shortly after the start when bumping with HE’S A WILD ONE and becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of PUNJABI SAVITAR.
 
HE’Z TITILLATING – Jumped awkwardly taking PUNJABI SAVITAR wider.
 
ROCK ‘N’ BLITZ – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and passed fit to start. Approaching the 100m, had to be steadied off the heels of CHLOE KINKY TOES to improve into clear running.
 
PUNJABI SAVITAR – Taken wider on jumping by HE’Z TITILLATING who shifted out.
 
HE’S A WILD ONE – Shifted in on jumping making heavy contact with THE ZHARS DAUGHTER for several strides. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
THE ZHARS DAUGHTER – Slowly away and bumped heavily for a number of strides with HE’S A WILD ONE. When questioned regarding the poor performance, rider M Gray stated that after suffering interference at the start, THE ZHARS DAUGHTER, which was having its first start, raced poorly from that point on and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Z Hohn was advised that THE ZHARS DAUGHTER must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start.
 
Race 5: TRC CLASS B HCP – 800M
 
THE EXHIBITIONIST – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not competing in the past 12 months and passed fit to start
 
COONTARA – Jumped away awkwardly shifting out bumping with SUPER LEON and became awkwardly placed on the heels of RUSSIAN WEAPON as a result. Trainer D Rideout was advised that COONTARA would need to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to its next start after being reluctant to proceed to the gates.
 
RUSSIAN WEAPON – Jumped awkwardly and shifted out abruptly shortly after.
 
SUPER LEON – Shifted in abruptly on jumping and bumped with COONTARA.
 
BAGGER NEMO – Declared a late scratching at 4.25pm after rearing in the mounting yard and subsequently was found to be lame in the off hind. Trainer A Clark was advised a veterinary certificate would be required prior to its next start. As no bookmakers were fielding, no deductions were applicable. Rider N Summers, who initially declined to be looked at by the Ambulance officers on course, subsequently was complaining of soreness in her lower back and hip. Due to this, N Summers was advised a medical would be required prior to her next engagements.
 
PUMP ACTION – Steadied shortly after the start when THE EXHIBITIONIST shifted in.
