Race 1: Channel 7 Maiden H’cap – 1400m
 
HONEST NATALIE – Was throwing its head in the air as the start was effected and was slow to begin.
 
WHAT’S ROCKIN’ – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
GEORGIE’S DEAL – Slow to begin.
 
GREAT LOOKER – Began awkwardly.
 
CASINO WEEK – Buffeted between runners near the 900m and shifted out, bumping another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
STELLA STARLITE – Was bumped by another runner which shifted out near the 900m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
FRIGHTENING DELAGO – Raced ungenerously leaving the 1000m and near the 900m shifted out, causing another runner to be buffeted between runners. Raced ungenerously for a short distance thereafter.
 
OCTOBER STORM – Became unbalanced near the 300m after brushing the running rail.
 
FOLLOW THE MONEY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CAMERON – When asked to explain the disappointing performance, rider J. Stanley stated the horse commenced to compound leaving the 600m despite his efforts and was disappointing.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.  Trainer T. Bannon will be interviewed at a later date in regards to the horse’s performance today.
 
 
Race 2: Star 106.3 Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1609m
 
AHMAH STAR – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
ALOOF’S TURF – Blundered on jumping.
 
OUTBACK PIRATE – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
 
CORINTH – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the middle stages and as a result shifted wider leaving the 800m and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
LOKUM – Improved onto heels, having to be steadied near the 800m.
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Had a tendency to overrace in the early and middle stages, and as a result raced in restricted toom.
 
 
Race 3: Carlton United Breweries Open H’cap – 2000m
 
VASSAL – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden back today after racing forward at its previous starts.  Ridden accordingly.
 
UNBIASED – Improved onto heels near the 800m, having to be restrained.  When questioned into the seemingly improved performance, trainer J. Whehlow stated he was expecting a forward showing from the horse at its previous start, however was of the opinion that it was unsuited by a heavy track on that occasion,  and being back on top of the ground today and stepping up in distance was beneficial to the horse’s performance today. Stewards noted the explanation.
 
BOCHY – Shifted in slightly near the 200m, crowding runners to its inside.
 
GOLDEN MANE – Crowded for room for a short distance near the 200m.
 
I CAN I WILL I AM – Crowded for room for a short distance near the 200m.
 
Race 4: Feed 2 Go Bracelet F&M Class 6 H’cap – 1300m
 
NOW ASK ME – Anticipated the start, causing it to begin very awkwardly and lose ground.
 
BANK TELLER – Slow to begin.  Overraced in the middle stages.
 
ESCADAY – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 1100m, having to be steadied.
 
MAKE HER OWN WHEY – Commenced to overrace a short distance after the start and continued for some distance, having  to be restrained.
 
MIGHTY MARMALADE – Commenced to overrace a short distanced after the start and continued for some distance,  and as a result shifted wider leaving the 600m. Raced wide from that point onwards.
 
SWEET TASTE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: Laser Clinics Australia QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1000m
 
EXCEEDING ASSASSIN – Shifted outwards at the start, bumping another runner.  Suffered a bleeding attack during the race. Connections were advised that the gelding would incur the   3 month  ban from racing under AR79, and must perform a 1000m gallop to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again.
 
BARD OF ARMAGH – Was bumped by another runner on jumping and was then buffeted between runners for a short distance. Steadied from heels near the 900m.
 
POETIC PEARL – Commenced to race ungenerously shortly after the start and shifted in near the 800m, bumping another runner.
 
TAWHIRI – Bumped by another runner near the 800m and shifted in, bumping heavily with another runner to its inside.
 
SHAKUNI – Bumped heavily near the 800m, becoming unbalanced and shifted in making contact with a runner to its inside and as a result lost ground.
 
WICKED DANCER – Bumped on the hind quarters near the 800m, becoming unbalanced and shifted in bumping a runner to its inside.
 
SARAH’S GIRL – Bumped by another runner near the 800m and was steadied.
 
HIBACHI MISS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CHEZBLACK – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
DANCING DIVA – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TARTUFO BIANCO – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: 2019 Race To The Reef Final/Talbot Heatley Lightning Open H’cap – 1000m
 
SEPTIMO – Slow to begin.
 
MASON’S CHANCE – Slow to begin. Was placed in restricted room and taken inwards near the 400m, tightening a runner to its inside. Jockey N. Callow, rider of MASON’S CHANCE, was severely reprimanded for the quality of his evidence during the inquiry.
 
MISHANI REDMAN – Stewards delayed correct weight to ascertain if the start had been officiated by the starter. On viewing the race day film it was established MISHANI REDMAN had anticipated the start and that the barrier gates were activated by the starter.  Checked near the 400m and lost its rightful running when tightened for room by runners which shifted in.
 
PALLADIAN – Jockey F. Edwards was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a), in that he permitted his mount to shift in near the 400m when not sufficiently clear of MASON’S CHANCE,  which was taken inwards, tightening the running of MISHANI REDMAN,  which had to be checked and lost its rightful running.  Jockey F. Edwards licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days, to commence at the expiration of a current careless riding penalty at midnight, 2 August 2019, up to and including 12 August 2019.  Jockey Edwards was advised of his appeal rights.  Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
HIDDEN IN HEAVEN – Raced wide for the majority of the race. Commenced to race ungenerously leaving the 900m and shifted in, crowding another runner.
 
KIRABO – Crowded for room near the 900m and then commenced to overrace for a short distance.
 
PLATINUM TYCOON – Improved onto heels near the 850m and was steadied.
 
BEAU JET – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormslities.
 
NATIONAL TRAIL – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 7: Jim Roberts Locksmith Class 1 H’cap – 1200m
 
SO LITTLE TIME -  As the gelding had not started for a considerable period of time, a pre-race veterinary examination was conducted, which cleared the horse to start.
 
DE LADY DELUXE – Began awkwardly and was bumped by another runner. Improved onto heels near the 1000m, having to be restrained.
 
SFILZA – Shifted inwards at the start and bumped another runner.
 
TRIUMPH STAR – Began awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 1000m. Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight.
 
HOSTILE LILY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Was severely checked near the 1000m when tightened for room by another runner, which shifted in.
 
MUSIC – Slow to begin. Restrained near the 1050m when placed in restricted toom by another runner, which shifted in.
 
GRAZIE MILLE BELLA – Shifted in near the 1050m, placing another runner in restricted room.  Rider C. Whiteley was severely reprimanded and advised to show greater care when shifting ground. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SOLUMINATE – Restrained when tightened for room near the 1000m.
 
PROFOUND CHOICE – Bumped near the 1000m when crowded for room.
 
MICHELIN FIVE STAR – Rider N. Day was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a), in that he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of HOSTILE LILY, which had to be severely checked and lost its rightful running when taken inwards, tightening runners to its inside.   Jockey N. Day’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 13 days, to commence at midnight, 27 July 2019, and to expire at midnight, 9 August 2019.  Stewards deemed this incident in the mid range.  Jockey N. Day was advised of his right to an Internal Review.   Bumped by another runner near the 200m and had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
TRUST ME GUS – Shifted out near the 200m, bumping another runner. Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
 
CLOUT – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
