SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Mackay 5/10/2019 - Race 3: STARCUT FLOWERS QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H’CAP - 1100M
 
Trainer Graeme Green, following the disappointing performance of MISS CLAIR, has subsequently advised stewards that following further veterinary examinations and blood tests taken, the results showed no abnormalities. He further advised that the filly was heavily in season.
 
Race 1: PALLARENDA STAKES RACEDAY SUNDAY 27 OCTOBER MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
DEIGO BAY - Dislodged rider A. Butler in the saddling enclosure prior to entering the track. Jockey Butler declared himself free of injury and able to fulfil his riding engagement. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
COLONEL PENAGA - Slow to begin.
 
YNYS GORED GOCH - Delayed the start when proving difficult to load. Slow to begin. Trainer T. Comerford was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s barrier manners.
 
TIDES OF TOKYO -  Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages, having to be steadied on two occasions.
 
DALAKANSHE - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
NORWEGIAN WOOD - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
KING’S KNIGHT - Had a tendency to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
Following the running of this event jockey A. Butler was examined by the ambulance officers after complaining of soreness in his left index finger and lower left leg and as such was stood down for the remainder of the day. Jockey Butler was advised that he will require a medical clearance prior to his next ride. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 2: RACING MELBOURNE CUP DAY @ TTC QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300M
 
TIGER CAN - Began awkwardly.
 
UP THE RIVER - Shifted wider leaving the 800m to improve and raced wide from that point onwards.
 
TOSCAVALE ROAD - Blundered on jumping and was crowded for room shortly after the start.
 
GREYSERENE - Commenced to hang out leaving the 800m, proving difficult to ride. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer F. Wieland was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners.
 
JILTED GIRL - Stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to the horse being permitted to start again.
 
Race 3: TAB DOWNLOAD THE APP F&M CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
PEKNA was declared a late scratching at 3:07 pm on veterinary advice after throwing itself down behind the barriers. A veterinary examination following this incident failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer J. Hassett was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of stewards on two occasions before being permitted to race again. On the announcement of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on PEKNA be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers placed prior to 3:07 pm:

WRITTEN IMAGE - Hung in under pressure in the home straight, proving difficult to ride out.
 
SCHILL ROCK YOU - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SWEET JUNE - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AYLA’S ANGEL - Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 1000m when being restrained.
 
Race 4: HYGAIN C,G&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
SPEED EIGHT - After being slow to begin, shifted out, making contact with another runner.
 
OSMOND - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
STAR BANNER - Overraced when racing in restricted room and as a result shifted wider leaving the 800m, racing wide from that point onwards.
 
CEEBIZ KIT - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TRUST ME GUS - Slow to begin.
 
DELUXE EDITION - Slow to begin.
 
OCTOBER STORM - Raced wide in the early stages before assuming the lead near the 1000m.
 
HE’S TERRYFIED - Slow to begin.
 
HIDONAL - Bumped by another runner on jumping after being slow to begin.
 
Race 5: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES CLASS 5 PLATE – 1000M
 
MEDIA VITA - Shifted in slightly near the 300m, crowding runners to its inside.
 
STONE PHILOSPHER - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
DEXTEROUS - Fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping another runner.
 
MERCURY BULLET - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CANFORD TREE - As S. Sheargold was unable to make the allotted weight, he was replaced by N. Yadi. Slow to begin.
 
COMBATTANT DE RUE - After being fractious in the barriers, was bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
HIGH DIVE - Unable to obtain clear running entering the home straight, having to be restrained for some distance until leaving the 200m.
 
CHEZBLACK - Began awkwardly.
 
FOXY FELINE - Fractious in the barriers. Had a tendency to shift ground inwards near the 300m, crowding another runner.
 
Following this event, due to a barrier attendant being injured, the start of Race 6 was delayed for a significant time for the injured person to be attended to by ambulance officers and another ambulance being required on course. As a result, Race 6 was rescheduled to start at 5:10 pm and Race 7 to start at 5:41 pm.
 
Race 6: BROWN BROTHERS FAMILY WINE MAKERS OPEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
SPACE TIME - Inconvenienced by another runner which shifted in shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MEGA D’ORO - As S. Sheargold was to be overweight, he was replaced by D. Edmonds. The horse was found to have bled during the race. As this was the second occasion on which it has bled it will now incur a mandatory lifetime ban from racing in Australia.
 
PLATINUM TYCOON - Began awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start, inconveniencing the runner to its inside. Rider A. Thomson was advised to make greater effort in similar circumstances.
 
NATIONAL TRAIL - Steadied off heels near the 450m.
 
GREEN ANCHOR - Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SWEET SURPRISE - Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 7: CANADIAN CLUB BENCHMARK 55 H'CAP – 1400M
 
SWEET TASTE - Laid in near the 1000m, placing another runner in restricted room. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 300m until leaving the 200m when crowded by another runner which shifted out.
 
EMSHALKY - Shifted in shortly after the start, making heavy contact with another runner.
 
DAMKY - Inclined to lay out under pressure from the 300m until the 200m, crowding another runner. Apprentice M. Murphy was advised to show greater care in similar circumstances to keep his mounts straight.
 
DORDOGNE - Bumped heavily shortly after the start by another runner which shifted inwards.
 
DRAGON PINS - Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 1000m, having to be steadied.
 
LOVE ME RUBY - As S. Sheargold was unable to make the allotted weight, he was replaced by A. Thomson when no other suitable senior rider was available. S. Sheargold was fined the sum of $300 for being unable to fulfil his engagements in Races 5, 6 and 7 due to being overweight and advised that he was not to take rides under 55.5kg until such time as his weight was able to be controlled at a constant level. Slow to begin.
