As G. Watson was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons, riding replacements were made as per steward’s summary.
 
Supplementary Report 
 
Mackay 15/11/2019 – Race 7 – Palladian
 
Trainer K. Hanson advised stewards the gelding had pleased him leading up to the event and although racing wide he was disappointed with its performance. He further advised he would have his own veterinary surgeon examine the gelding and advise stewards should anything of note come to his attention.      
 
Race 1: AGGREKKO TOWNSVILLE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M
 
CIMMERON SPIRIT – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early stages of the race. Was tightened for room near the 750m by another runner which shifted in and was restrained, a short distance later shifted in crowding another runner.
 
SHE’S GOT TICKETS – Crowded for room leaving the 750m by another runner which shifted in when racing ungenerously and was steadied.
 
MOUNTAIN HALO – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages of the race placing its rider at a disadvantage and shifted in tightening runners near the 750m. Whilst stewards noted the racing manners of the gelding, rider J. Felix was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.   

 
SAPHIRE WINGS – Rider M. Abe lost the use of his near side iron on jumping until a point near the 350m placing him at a disadvantage and causing him to lose ground.
 
NORWEGIAN WOOD – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAXHENRY – Raced wide for majority of the race.
 
Race 2: CUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1000M
 
ELITE JET – Slow to begin.
 
MADEMOISELLE POLLY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. On returning to scale was found to have suffered a bleeding attack during in the race. Trainer G. Horner was advised the mare would incur the mandatory 3 month ban from racing and must complete a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward, under the provisions of AR 79 (1) (4) prior to being permitted to race again. Mr Horner advised stewards it is now his intention that the mare be retired from racing.
 
CAPT’N THUNDERBIRD – Was hard ridden in the early stages to go forward and near the 900m shifted in despite the efforts of its rider crowding runners to its inside.
 
CHIC SOX – Was forced inwards by another runner leaving the 900m becoming awkwardly placed inside the line of the running rail linking onto the course proper and as a result shifted out leaving the 850m inconveniencing a runner to its outside.
 
FLYING DUBAI – Inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out leaving the 850m.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
MBWALI – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BRAVE BOW – When questioned into the improved performance today trainer E. Sewell advised that he had been disappointed with the geldings performances last preparation however it had pleased him in its lead up for today’s event being first up run from a spell and further added it had trialled well recently . Stewards noted his explanations.
 
Race 3: CARPET COURT TOWNSVILLE CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200M
 
KEODOR – Slow to begin.
 
ALL ZED AND DONE – Over-raced in the middle stages of the race.
 
TIMELESS GREY – Restrained approaching the winning post when unable to obtain clear running.
 
SNOOZE YA LOSE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
OSMOND – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
Race 4: PAYNTERS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1200M
 
ISLAND BAR – Trainer R. Nelson was reprimanded under the provisions of LR67 in that he
failed to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Slow to begin and was unable to
muster any early pace. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
SWEET TASTE – Jumped inwards at the start bumping another runner.
 
MARTIAL ART – Bumped by another runner on jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the
race.
 
COUNT THE INTEREST – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start, began awkwardly and
lost ground. Raced in restricted room for a short distance leaving the 900m.
 
HARVEST PRIDE – Slow to begin. Unable to muster early speed. Laid out in the middle
stages then laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
NARDA SHAR – Laid out for the majority of the race.
 
DEXTEROUS – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: TAB BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400M
 
STRADA GRANDE – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
 
KANUI – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Was unable to muster any early speed.
 
VANDROSS – Momentarily held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
DIAMOND COUNTRY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
STRONG WILL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
COUSIN MUSCELS – Rider F. Edwards was fined the sum of $100 in that he used his whip in an excessive manner prior to the 100m.
