GENERAL
Jockey R Payne who reported she had sustained a back injury on course following the completion of her riding engagements was advised she will require a medical clearance prior to resuming race riding.
 
Race 1: WELCOME TO CLUDEN PARK QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1200M
 
SONEYMAR STAR – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey W. D’Avila was fined the sum of $300 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
COURTING SARA – Began awkwardly.
 
AWARE OF STYLE – Slowly away.
 
DREAM OF DUBAI – Slowly away. Raced ungenerously for a short distance near the 900m when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
MARVELLOUS HEART – Unable to muster pace in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 2: WELCOME FRIENDS OF TOWNSVILLE TURF CLUB MAIDEN H'CAP – 1200M
 
LIGHTHORSE LAD – Bumped with another runner on jumping and again with the same runner near the 1100m. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Trainer W. Kenning was of the opinion that the wide trip on the soft conditions had taken a toll on the gelding which was resuming after a 7 week absence from racing.  
 
JABAL TARIQ – Had to be restrained and lost ground when racing tight in restricted room between runners, due to movement from either side, passing the 900m.
 
POTENT POWER – Fractious in the barriers.
 
SAN JOAQUIN – Slowly away. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Jockey C. Spry advised the gelding had never travelled comfortably in the soft conditions.
 
AHEAD OF THE REST – Bumped with another runner on jumping and again with the same runner near the 1100m. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
ME AND MY DRUM – Slowly away. Bumped with another runner soon after jumping. Near the 900m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
ARTE ET MARTE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Following the running of this race the track rating was downgraded to a SOFT 7.
 
Race 3: CPA GROUP RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 H'CAP – 1200M
 
FOXY FELINE – Began awkwardly.
 
STREET ROGUE – Reluctant to load. Stood flat-footed as the start was effected losing considerable ground. Was hampered near the 950m when unable to avoid fallen rider App. R Shred. Jockey S. Wiseman was reminded of her responsibility to ride her mounts out to the finish of the race whether in contention or not. Trainer O. Cairns was advised STREET ROGUE would be required to obtain one (1) further barrier certificate prior to next race start.
 
THE GROVE – Inconvenienced by a riderless horse near the 850m. Restrained when tightened by another runner passing the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed dirt in the gelding’s eye due to kickback in running.
 
PURPLE GREY – Restrained off heels near the 850m.
 
KWIKILLA – Had to be restrained off heels when laying in near the 300m. Was inconvenienced near the 250m when a runner to its inside shifted out under pressure. Raced wide for the majority.
 
EVIL EYE MAC – Was inconvenienced near the 250m when a runner to its inside shifted out. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey G. Watson reported that his goggles had become coated due to kickback in running placing him at a disadvantage over the middle and concluding stages.
 
SLICK MOVER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
EXTRACTION – Shifted out under pressure near the 250m. Raced wide for the majority.
 
FORGOTTEN FEELING – Shifted in passing the winning post tightening a runner to its inside. Jockey G Goomany was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Trainer L. Wanless was fined the sum of $100 for presenting the mare to race with unstitched adhesive bandages. AR206.           
 
Stewards, at a future date when all relevant parties are able to attend, will inquire into the reason App. R. Shred was dislodged from her mount KEIGHLEY SUN passing the 900m. As a result of this incident App. Shred was transported to hospital and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Following the running of this race Stewards accompanied by a delegation of Senior Jockeys inspected a section of the track between the 700m and the 500m deeming it safe and suitable for the continuation of the race meeting.
 
Owing to personal circumstances, G. Watson was permitted by Stewards to forgo his remaining rides and riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
The starting times of Races 4 to 8 were put back one race, with Race 9 rescheduled to 5:20 pm.
 
Race 4: LOGISTICS NQ RATINGS BAND 0 – 58 H'CAP – 1200M
 
OSMOND was a late scratching at 12:55 pm following the track downgrade to SOFT 7.
 
HARVEST PRIDE – Slowly away after being inconvenienced on jumping.
 
ALLEVIATOR – Slowly away. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event. Shifted out under pressure near the 250m inconveniencing a runner to its outside. Jockey C. Spry was advised to excercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
BANK TELLER – Shifted in marginally near the 250m inconveniencing a runner to its inside.
 
BIJALEE – Shifted out on jumping, inconveniencing runners to its outside. Raced ungenerously for some distance passing the 1000m.
 
MISS FLAWLESS – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CHEEKY REWARD – Raced ungenerously when placed in restricted room between runners near the 1000m.
 
WRITTEN IMAGE – Jumped inwards, inconveniencing another runner. Had to be restrained when tightened between runners near the 250m.
 
TOFF ROCKS – Tightened between runners after beginning awkwardly.
 
Race 5: CLUDEN PARK SPORTS BAR OPEN H'CAP – 1609M
 
LADY SKILLS – Jockey G. Kliese was fined the sum of $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed dirt in the mare’s eyes due to kickback in running.
 
BEST HOFFA – Jockey P. Romeo was fined the sum of $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
VIA BALCIANO – Shifted out after having to be restrained when the pace slackened near the 1000m.
 
ROCK SPUR – Slowly away. Restrained off heels when the pace slackened near the 1000m.
 
DORDOGNE – Inclined to overrace in the middle stages when the pace slackened.
 
BOCHY – Restrained out around heels when the pace slackened near the 1000m.
 
Following the running of this race the track rating was downgraded to a HEAVY 8.
 
Race 6: EMPIRE FURNITURE BENCHMARK 60 H'CAP – 1609M
 
MOSEF was a late scratching at 9:45 am after being found to be lame in the near foreleg. Trainer M. Geaney was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse’s next start.
 
TRIUMPH STAR – Jockey W. D’Avila advised stewards that in his opinion the combination of the heavy impost and heavy track conditions had a detrimental effect on the gelding’s performance today.
 
SOUTHERN SWING – Slowly away. Had to be restrained off heels near the 1100m. Momentarily held up for clear running on straightening.
 
KITTEAU – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Eased out of race in the home straight when Jockey C. Spry felt something may have gone amiss. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M. Jokic advised it is now the intention to retire the gelding from racing. Nonetheless Mr. Jokic was advised a veterinary clearance would be required should circumstances change.
 
RED PHANTOM – Slowly away. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
FOLLOW ON – Slowly away.
 
EMSHALKY – Slowly away. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
DONT CHEAT CHARLIE – Laid in under pressure down the running. Stewards intend to interview Jockey G. Goomany in relation to his use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
PLEASURE BOMB – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
Race 7: HY-TECH RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 H'CAP – 1000M
 
MERCURY BULLET – Bumped with another runner soon after the start.
 
GENERAL SHORT – Began awkwardly. Shifted in after being bumped by another runner soon after jumping. Restrained off heels near the 600m.
 
INTENSE FOCUS – Shifted in on jumping.
 
HOWYALIKEMENOW – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
J’ADORE – Shifted out on jumping.
 
FREEFICA – Slowly into stride after being tightened between runners on jumping.
 
KISS ME LATER – Began awkwardly. Momentarily held up approaching the home turn.
 
MOUNT COSTA – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
MIANU – Jockey R. Payne advised that the filly had never travelled comfortably in today’s soft conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 8: CLUDEN PARK MEMBERS LOUNGE OPEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
BOOT SHAKER was a late scratching at 8:15 am for acceptable reasons.
 
PLATINUM TYCOON was a late scratching at 2:40 pm following the track downgrade to HEAVY 8.
 
BEAU JET – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
CHAPEL ROAD – Overraced in the early stages. Unable to obtain clear running from the entrance to the home straight until the 200m. Jockey C. Whiteley advised that in his opinion the horse had not been comfortable in today’s track conditions.
 
PERFECT KNOWLEDGE – Bumped by another runner soon after the start. Laid in under pressure down the running.
 
BRYAN’S BABE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DIVINE SERVICE – Slowly into stride.
 
AIRACOBRA – Began awkwardly. Shifted in soon after the start, bumping with another runner.
 
BUSTER BLOCK – Slowly into stride.
 
DROPS OF JUPITER – Shifted out under pressure approaching the 250m placing another runner in restricted room Jockey F. Edwards was reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a).
 
WICKED DANCER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
Race 9: LIQUITECH / HORSEPOWER CLASS 6 PLATE – 1300M
 
DALON – Jockey A. Holt was fined the sum of $200 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
MASKING – Shifted in near the 950m when not fully clear of another runner. Jockey S. Sheargold was severely reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a).
 
MISTA BUSY – Began awkwardly.
 
LOVE IS BLIND – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
HUTCHO – Slowly into stride after being bumped by another runner on jumping.
 
SO YOU DREAM – Had to be restrained near the 950m when tightened for room by another runner which shifted in when not fully clear.
