Race 1: VETTA PRODUCTIONS QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD AND THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200m

I TOO CAN DREAM – Trainer B Williams advised the horse had been gelded some time prior to its 1st race start at Home Hill on July 11th 2020, although described in media publications as a colt. Punters were advised via social media and on-course announcement. Restrained off heels approaching the 800m shifting in inconveniencing another runner. Restrained off heels again at the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

CHAMPAGNE AT DAWN – Slowly away.

AMELIA’S RAINBOW - Slowly away. Inconvenienced near the 800m.

JUST A LOVE SONG – Shifted out on jumping bumping a runner to its outside. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Raced wide without cover for the majority.

FLYING BLONDE – Inconvenienced on jumping.

TOSCAVALE ROAD – Shifted in on jumping.

LOVE OVER GOLD – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

CRACKER ESGEE – Raced wide for the majority.

SMOKIN’ TOMMY – Raced wide for the majority.

STOLEN DIAMONDS – Raced wide from the 700m onwards.

Race 2: JODIE KENNEDY EVENT MANAGEMENT MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m

NO SHENANIGANS – Dislodged jockey A. Sewell on exiting the mounting yard, galloping riderless at a moderate pace from near the 1700m into the 1600m shute being quickly captured. Underwent a veterinary inspection behind the barriers and was passed fit to start. Slowly away and then attempted to buck for some distance, taking no competitive part in the event. Trainer G. Holt was advised the gelding would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

GREAT LOOKER – Slowly away. Restrained after improving onto heels near the 800m. Over-raced for some distance after.

BALNAGAL – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Near the 400m shifted in marginally inconveniencing a runner its inside.

RUFFIN’ IT – Raced ungenerously near the 1000m shifting in and placing a runner to its inside in restricted room. Shifted in again a short time later when not fully clear hampering the same runner. Jockey B. Pengelly was severely reprimanded for careless riding under the provisions of AR 131(a).

FLAG RAISER – Inconvenienced when placed in restricted room near the 1000m. Hampered near the 950m by another runner which shifted in when not fully clear. Inconvenienced near the 400m by another runner which shifted in.

Approaching the 200m NOIR JACK (S Sheargold) improved to the outside of RUFFIN’ IT shifting in and bumping with that runner. At the same time BRANDS HATCH (C Whiteley) shifted out around the heels of KING’S KNIGHT (P Romeo) to obtain clear running. As a result RUFFIN’ IT was severely tightened. As Stewards were of the opinion that the shift out by BRANDS HATCH had been the major contributing factor to the incident Jockey C Whiteley was reprimanded for careless riding. AR131(a).

Race 3: NQ LICENSED EVENTS BM69 HANDICAP 1000m

BET ON LOVE - Penalised 1kg for winning at Cairns on Thursday July 9 2020.

BLUE PHANTOM – Resuming after a prolonged absence from racing. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Began awkwardly. Slowly into stride after being tightened between runners soon after jumping.

DANCING DIVA – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.

HAYYLER’S ILLUSION – Shifted out on jumping.

SWEET PERFUME – Shifted in on jumping.

STAR BANNER – Slowly away. Shifted out around heels near the 250m bumping with a runner to its outside.

BOLD TYPE – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages. Became momentarily unbalanced after being bumped by anther runner near the 250m.

KENTUCKY FLYER – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4: WELCOME BACK TO TTC QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP 1400m

HIT SNOOZE - Not penalised for its win at Home Hill on Saturday July 11 2020. Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Began awkwardly.

MAN O’ ROSS – Late scratching at 2:24pm on veterinary advice after being kicked in the near hind leg by another horse behind the barriers. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and the following deductions apply to successful wagers:

1st place PANIAGUA 12cents win 20cents place.
2nd place LOVE IS BLIND 7 cents place.
3rd place MIANU 14 cents place.

Trainer M Geaney was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.

SOUTHERN SWING – Slowly away after being inconvenienced on jumping.

SAN JOAQUIN – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing another runner. Slowly into stride.

PANAGUIA – Over-raced in the middle stages.

LADY YENDOR – Jockey B Pengelly reported the mare had failed to let down in the home straight and was disappointing. Trainer W Kenning to provide results of blood test when available.

LOVE IS BLIND – When questioned in relation to his riding of the gelding in the home straight App M. Potgieter advised that he had elected to ride hands and heels slapping the gelding down the shoulder with his whip to keep it balanced under its heavy impost. Trainer Mr R. Chillemi was satisfied that LOVE IS BLIND had performed as well as possible under the heavy weight and was of the opinion that App Potgieter had ridden the gelding out to the best of his ability in the circumstances.

Race 5: DOO TOWN CLASS 2 PLATE 1200m

HASTY HEART – Trainer R. Miller advised that the mare would be ridden conservatively in the early and middle stages should circumstances permit. Punters were advised via social media and on-course announcement. After being slowly into stride the mare was ridden accordingly.

ISILMO – Slowly into stride.

MIKEY’S TURF – Slowly into stride after being inconvenienced on jumping.

REAGAN – Shifted in on jumping inconveniencing a runner to its inside. Laid in under pressure down the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

BORELLA – Raced ungenerously passing the 1000m.

HOWYALIKEMENOW – Raced wide for the majority. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the off foreleg. Trainer A Cameron was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding again being permitted to start in a race.

Stewards inquired into and incident which occurred passing the 800m resulting in BUOYANCY W. D’Avila being tightened against the inside running rail. After hearing evidence from jockey D’Avila, and jockeys F. Edwards (SOLDIERS), N. Day (REAGAN), S. Wilson (BORELLA) and G. Kliese (HOWYALIKEMENOW) and viewing available patrol footage it was established that REAGAN which had been inclined to lay in leading up to the incident had shifted in marginally causing SOLDIERS to shift in and away tightening the running of BOUYANCY which made contact with the running rail on two occasions. Stewards did note that jockey Day relieved the pressure to the inside runners very quickly and in doing so shifted out abruptly forcing HOWYALIKEMENOW which was racing to the outside of REAGAN wider on the track. BORELLA which was following was also steadied as a result of this incident.

Race 6: INTERIORS FLORALS WEIGHT FOR AGE 2000m

LADY SKILLS – Began awkwardly. Slowly away. Tired noticeably over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer M Geaney undertook to advise Stewards should anything which may have impacted today’s performance become apparent in coming days.

SCHERZOSO – Slowly away.

UNBIASED – Slowly away. Raced in a three wide position passing the 900m.

ARMS RACE – Began awkwardly. Slowly away. Altered course abruptly near the 300m to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.

BARWON – Raced wide for the majority.

MUSTARRID – Over-raced for some distance passing the 1200m.

Race 7: KERSH CONCRETING HANDICAP 1200m

WARWICK AVENUE – Due to an administrative error Blinkers were not included as part of the gelding’s advertised racing gear. Punters were advised via social media and on-course announcement that the horse would race in Blinkers. Bumped with another runner on jumping.

MISHANI REDMAN – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced wide in the early stages.

BULLION WOLF – Shifted out soon after jumping bumping with another runner. Bumped with another runner near the 500m on two occasions.

TAMBO’S HEART – Became unbalanced after being bumped by another runner soon after jumping. Bumped with another runner near the 500m on two occasions.

MASON’S CHANCE – Slowly away. When jockey C. Jokic attempted to restrain the gelding across heels in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the inside running rail MASON’S CHANCE appeared to resent her actions and raced ungenerously for a short distance.

BOLD ENDEAVOUR – Raced wide in the early stages.

Race 8: AIRCOOL INDUSTRIES BM58 HANDICAP 1609m

IM NOT SURE – Slowly away.

RED PHANTOM – Slowly away. Had to be restrained off heels near the 1300m and again near the 850m.

AUTMED – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

GUANGZHOU – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

JUSTALAD – Raced wide in the early and middle stages.

PLEASURE BOMB – Over-raced in the early and middle stages.

FLUIDITY – Raced wide for the majority.

HUTCHO – Raced in restricted room passing the 150m. Accidentally struck by another rider’s whip near the 100m.

Approaching the 100m several runners were racing in restricted room. At that point GUANGZHOU (M. Potgieter) shifted in marginally under pressure taking PLEASURE BOMB (S. Wilson) in and causing that runner to bump with JUSTALAD (P. Cullen) which became unbalanced brushing the inside running rail.
