Race 1: PRYDE'S EASIFEED BENCHMARK 75 Handicap 1210 metres
Papa Jo- Laid out rounding the home turn.
Cape Wickham- Laid out throughout.
Miss Beneteau- Began awkwardly losing ground.
Race 2: WESTON KITCHENS Class 1 Handicap 1640 metres
Top Society- Steadied when placed in restricted room shortly after the start.
Bambalam-Raced wide without cover throughout.
Miss How Long- Began awkwardly.
Whostoppedtherain- Jockey J Lyon was fined $300 for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m.Stewards questioned Jockey J Lyon and Trainer Mr Currie in relation to the below market expectation performance. Jockey Lyon advised that the mare travelled keenly during the event and in his opinion may not have backed up from its most recent run at Gatton 7 days prior to tonight’s event. Jockey Lyon added that in his opinion the mare may be better suited when able to obtain cover during its races. Mr Currie could offer no tangible explanation in relation to the performance of the mare which he advised had continued to work well in preparation for tonight’s event. Mr Currie further advised that in light of this performance he would now review the mare’s current preparation. A post-race Veterinary Examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Race 3: CARPET ONE Maiden Plate 1050 metres
As Jockey G. Goomany was dual declared, App. K Cowan was the replacement rider for KRAKAN COVE when there was no other senior rider available.
Dream Police- Tightened for room on jumping and lost ground.
Motal- Laid in for the majority of the event.
Snap On- Raced keenly during the early and middle stages. Shifted out whilst tiring over the concluding stages, bumping another runner and as a result became unbalanced.
Cribby Miss- Slow to begin.
No No Ninette- Bumped over the concluding stages.
Stylish Habit- Tightened for room on jumping losing ground, as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
Outback Heights- Steadied to avoid heels over the concluding stages.
Race 4: SUBZERO AIRCONDITIONING QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1110 metres
As Apprentice C Bayliss was injured and not riding at the meeting, App W Peel was the replacement rider for NASA. App Bayliss will require a medical certificate prior to next riding.
Eveready- Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Famus Fella- Failed to muster early speed. Forced wider near the 900m to avoid heels.
Flinders Parade-Tightened for room at the start. Raced ungenerously and was steadied when awkwardly placed on heels near the 900m.
Millchester- Tightened for room, made contact with the running rail and was checked near the 1000m when racing to the inside of FLINDERS PARADE which was taken in by ANYWAY YOU WANT IT which hung in despite the efforts of its rider.
Nasa-Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced wide from the 800m.
Mori's Press-A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have bled from 1 nostril. Trainer M Currie was advised the filly would be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of Stewards prior to next racing. Jockey J Lyon pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) in that he used his whip in an excessive manner (19 occasions) during the event. Jockey Lyon’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days commencing midnight 12 September 2020 and to expire midnight 19 September 2020.
Sonic Arrow- Steadied when awkwardly placed at heels near the 850m.
Race 5: HANNAS Class 3 Handicap 1875 metres
Poolenzo- Lost its near side winker near the 1500m.
Ultimate Power- Over raced during the early and middle stages.
In Your Element-Laid in rounding the home turn.
Schwarzy-Slow to begin.
Race 6: QUEST TOOWOOMBA APARTMENT HOTEL QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1640 metres
Statesville- App. W Peel advised that the colt travelled comfortably during the event, however from the 600m failed to quicken as she had expected and felt awkward in its action in the home straight. A post race Veterinary Examination revealed the colt to have minor laceration to its off hind leg.
Calm Seeker (NZ)- Slow to begin and then clipped heels whilst over racing near the 1500m.
Doctor Costello- Hung out rounding the home turn.
Roke- Leaving the 400m, was tightened for room and checked when racing to the inside of STATESVILLE, which was taken in by MIKADO which laid in despite the efforts of its rider.
Race 7: TAYLOR BUILDING GROUP Maiden Handicap 1640 metres
Roacci-Jumped in the air at the start, losing ground, and as a consequence settled further back in the field than anticipated.
Arise My Son-Raced keenly during the early and middle stages.
Pagen Floki-Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
Torque To Roman- As apprentice Thompson was ill and unable to fulfill his engagement in this event, he was replaced by App. W Peel. Tailed off during the event. A post-race Veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer T Pascoe was advised the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
