SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Trainer K Kemp advised that following the disappointing performance of MR MARBELLOUZ, the gelding has now been retired.
 
Race 1: FURNEYS STOCK FEEDS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1210 metres
 
CONGELATOR- As the gelding had not started for over 12 months, it was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon prior to the event and passed suitable to race. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
TRAIL OF GLORY- After being slow to begin, clipped heels shortly after the start and lost ground. Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
VOULAIT- Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
ARCHER'S TREASURE- Jockey L Tilley reported that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the home straight and felt short in its action on returning to scale. A post-race Veterinary Examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off fore leg. The Trainer’s representative for Trainer M  Nolan was advised the stable would be required to obtain a Veterinary Certificate for the gelding prior to it next racing.
 
SUPERSONIC BOOM- After beginning fairly, failed to muster speed and as a result settled further back than anticipated. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout.
ALL SHIRAZ- Jockey K Yoshida could offer no tangible explanation for the below market expectation performance.
 
SEE FOR YOURSELF- Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn. Jockey S Lacy was fined $600 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being on 8 occasions.
 
LOVESON- Slow to begin.
 
Race 2: GET OUT STAKES Class 2 Handicap 1110 metres
 
TO LOVE SOMEBODY- As Jockey J Morris was delayed arriving on course, he was replaced by K Yoshida. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
HIDDEN EYES- Began awkwardly. After being crossed near the 800m, was momentarily steadied from heels.
 
REAL FINE WINE- Disappointed for a run approaching the finish of the event.
 
SPARTAN JET- Laid in over the concluding stages and as a consequence was straightened by its rider. Jockey N Tomizawa was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being on 6 occasions.
 
RUN THE CUTTER- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
LEICA FIRECRACKER- Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
Race 3: HANNAS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1300 metres
 
CULLINGWORTH- Race 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event. Apprentice T Wheeler was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being on 7 occasions.
 
TREASURE OF GOLD- Made contact with the running rail of its own accord near the 900m. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. As trainer N Nolan was absent form tonight’s meeting stewards will speak to him in the coming days with respect to the geldings improved performance.
 
ABSOLUTE GLORY- Laid out rounding the home turn and then had a tendency to laid in over the concluding stages.
 
SKYE AND ME- Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground.
 
Race 4: KENNARDS HIRE QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
 
CHARGED- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Near the 800m, was steadied when placed in restricted room to the inside of LUNA AMANTE (R Palmer) which was taken in by SPIRIT’S CHARM (R Goltz) which shifted in momentarily. Jockey Goltz the rider of SPIRIT’S CHARM was advised to exercise more care.
 
PUCKO- Steadied from heels near the 700m. Raced 3 wide with cover for the majority of the event.
 
COUNTRY SHOWGIRL- Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
GIRL CRUSH- Steadied and forced wider of the track rounding the home turn when CHARGED (L Kilner) shifted out when not completely clear. App. Kilner the rider of CHARGED was advised to exercise more care.
 
MOJO BABY- Laid out when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
WINTER RAIN- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
LUNA AMANTE- Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
Race 5: TAB VENUE MODE Maiden Handicap 1210 metres
 
CANNY CAT- Slow to begin. Near the 900m was forced wider on the track by another runner and as a consequence was forced to race 3 wide without cover for the remainder of the event. Bumped heavily on the hind quarters rounding the home turn and as a result became unbalanced.
 
JOE THE CHIPPY-Near the 1100m raced in restricted room for a short distance. Near the 100m improved onto the heels of a tiring runner and as a consequence was shifted out abruptly by its rider.
 
SINGLE RISE- Bounded on jumping and lost ground. Raced greenly for the majority of the event. Buffered between runners rounding the home turn and as a result became unbalanced and lost ground.
 
KOHIKO- Leaving the 500m was steadied to avoid the heels of another runner.
 
PLENTY OF ZIP- Near the 900m improved onto heels and shifted wider. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
MATILDA GENE- Hung out rounding the turn near the 900m. Laid out near the 500m and as a consequence was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of another runner. Jockey R Palmer was issued a $400 fine under AR132(5) for using her whip in an excessive manner, that being 16 occasions.
 
JONDY ALL SET- Slow to begin.
 
OFFICE AFFAIR- Jockey R Goltz reported that his saddle shifted back on jumping placing him at a disadvantage throughout the event.
 
Race 6: AUDI CENTRE TOOWOOMBA Maiden Handicap 1210 metres
 
HAIRY LOVER- Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the event. Laid out under pressure from the 400m.
 
HE'S ALL READY- Leaving the 900m improved onto heels and steadied. Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
OUR ROCKIN'- Tightened on jumping. Forced wider on the track by another runner rounding the home turn.
 
EPIC REIGN- Laid in for the majority of the event.
 
LEADBURN NICCI- Bumped heavily on jumping and lost ground. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority.
 
TERRAJOHNA – Bumped heavily on jumping.
 
LICENSE TO ROCK- Tightened for room near the 900m.
 
BLOOMIN’ KIND – Near the 900m was tightened for room and eased when LICENSE TO ROCK was taken in by EPIC REIGN (App. T Townsend) which was hanging in. Apprentice T Townsend the rider of EPIC REIGN was advised that despite EPIC REIGN’S tendency to hang in Stewards would expect her to make a greater effort to prevent her mount from shifting in in similar circumstances in future events. In this incident Jockey H Phillips advised she suffered some discomfort in her right foot after making contact with the running rail.
 
Race 7: MNP SECURITY QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
YANGSEA- Trainer M Currie was questioned in relation to the seemingly improved performance. Mr Currie advised that in the lead up to the colts first start in a race it had a somewhat rushed preparation and in retrospect having raced greenly in that event it may not have been suited by having its first run in a race in that event. Mr Currie went on the say that despite this, with the advantage of race experience and a fitness benefit derived from its first start he had expected the colt to show an improved effort in tonight’s event. Stewards noted Mr Currie’s explanation.
 
ATTA GAL- Apprentice M Savva was issued a $500 fine under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100, that being 6 occasions.
 
DAZZLING FLASH- Began awkwardly.
 
MARCIA AURELIA- Began awkwardly and shifted wider on the track.
 
STIRLING DIVA- After being caught wide in the early stages was ridden aggressively near the 800m in an endeavour to cross to a position outside the leader however when ATTA GAL maintained a position to its inside the filly was unable to cross and therefore was restrained to a position with cover passing the 600m. Disappointed for a run near the 150m and as a result was shifted to the outside to secure clear running.
 
Race 8: MOORE LEWIS & PARTNERS BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1880 metres
 
CHAMPAGNE AUNTY- Laid in from the 400m.
 
BEL BEAU- Over raced in the early and middle stages proving difficult to restrain and as a consequence established a considerable lead in the middle stages.
 
BRACKEN- Bumped at the start.
 
WEALTH'N'POWER- Slow to begin.
 
MADAM MAHAL- Began awkwardly bumping another runner.
 
Race 9: NEIL MANSELL TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1880 metres
 
LUVYOUANYTIME- Jockey R Goltz could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have had a poor post-race recovery.
 
RED MONKEY- Apprentice T Townsend was issued a reprimand under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being 6 occasions.
 
STAR CENTRE- (Nozi) Laid in during the home straight. Jockey N Tomizawa was issued a $400 fine under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on more than 5 occasions prior to the 100m, that being 7 occasions.
 
GOTTA BE FIRST – Laid in during the home straight.
