GOLD MONARCH – Held up entering the home straight. Leaving the 600m had to be steadied from heels on two occasions when SHADWELL FLYER shifted in. Jockey M. Cox pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding  under AR137(a) for permitting her mount to shift in on two occasions leaving the 600m when not sufficiently clear of GOLD MONARCH which had to be steadied from heels. Jockey M. Cox licence was suspended to ride in races for 8 days, to commence at midnight on Saturday 22 September 2018 and expire at midnight on Sunday 30 September 2018.

On return to scale, Apprentice H. English rider of the second placegetter, CATENA lodged an objection against YOUL BEATEM being declared the winner, alleging interference leaving the 150m. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the patrol footage, Stewards could not be satisfied that the minimal interference suffered by CATENA leaving the 150m was sufficient to alter the placings bearing in mind the margin between the runner at the conclusion of the event. Therefore stewards dismissed the objection.
