SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
THANGOOL - 12TH SEPTEMBER 2020 – RACE 3
 
Trainer Mr R Hay advised stewards that following COACH’s disappointing performance at Thangool, the gelding had pulled up well and it is his intention to give the horse a short spell. He added that in his opinion, COACH may not have handled the firm going and will look to accept at tracks with greater give this preparation.          
 
THANGOOL - 12TH SEPTEMBER 2020 – RACE 4
 
Trainer A Clark advised stewards that BAGGER NEMO would now be retired and has left his stables.
 
 
GENERAL
 
Race 1: REES R AND SYDNEY JONES Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
Dip Dye – Laid in rounding the home turn.
 
The Sheldonator – Slow to begin.
 
Dr Neigh – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room to the inside DIP DYE approaching the 700m.
 
Highly Influential – Contacted on entering the home straight.
 
Hard Eight – Contacted on entering the home straight.
 
Blame It On Paris – Raced wide without cover from the vicinity of the 800m.
 
Investible – Approaching the 600m, had to be restrained after improving onto heels.
 
Sharindi – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
We Want It All – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Shifted in to improve approaching the 300m, but in doing so, became awkwardly placed on the heels of DR NEIGH and had to be restrained and shifted out around the heels of DIP DYE to improve into clear running. Approaching the 50m, laid out under pressure becoming awkwardly placed on heels of HIGHLY INFLUIENTIAL.  
 
Following the running of race 1 the track was upgraded to a Good 3
 
Race 2: REGIONAL INSURANCE BROKERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 950 metres
 
Emilee's Empire – In the vicinity of the 700m, became awkwardly placed on the heels of MOSSMAID and as a result became awkward in its stride. A post-race veterinary examination revealed failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Fairybower Flyer – On straightening approaching the 600m, shifted out contacting ALOTTA ATTITUDE. Laid in under pressure down the home straight.
 
Merida's Bow – Slow to begin.
 
Alotta Attitude – On Straightening approaching the 600m, shifted in contacting FAIRBOWER FLYER.
 
Rosaire – Laid out rounding the turn.
 
Rosettes – Laid in when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Mossmaid – Trainer Clinton Taylor advised of a change of tactics to settle further forward if circumstances permit.  Settled forward of midfield. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey J Stanley advised that in his opinion the filly is better suited racing over further distances.
 
Plenty of Ticker – Was a late scratching at 7:50am due to no available rider
 
Race 3: GRANT AND SIMPSON LAWYERS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1000 Metres
 
The start of the race was delayed 5 minutes, owning to Apprentice A Ross being delayed in weighing out for the race.
 
Applicant – Jumped away awkwardly and as a result was slow into stride. Rider A Ross reported her mount was reluctant to stride out throughout the event. Laid out under pressure in the straight. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Liberty's Gift – Approaching the 700m, raced in restricted room for a number of strides and had to be restrained. Jockey D Graham reported that her saddle had shifted while having to be restrained, placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Rider D Graham was fined $300 for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Cheeky Mila – Rider M McGillivray reported that the mare got its tongue over the bit, placing him at a disadvantage throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the off foreleg.
 
Race 4: GREEN STEEL OPEN Handicap 1100 Metres
 
Raiden –Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the home straight.
 
Drumbeat's Choice – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Stone Warrior – Ran off making the turn in the vicinity of the 600m.
 
District – Ran off making the turn in the vicinity of the 600m.
 
Hidden Goddess – Jumped away awkwardly.

Race 5: CENTRE STATE SIGNS RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1200 Metres
 
Flying Crackerjak – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.

Art of Dance – Approaching the 200m, had to shift out to improve into clear running after DISCO MO laid in across his heels, and in doing so contacted HEZAGIGOLO. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Monstrosity – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Stepped In Paint – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clearing running entering the home straight.
 
Sfilza – Raced wide throughout.Rider E Bell was reprimanded for using her whip 6 times prior to the 100m, one more than permissible under the rule.
 
Hezagigolo – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m.

Race 6: CHAMP RESOURCES OPEN Handicap 1400 Metres
 
Barachiel ­– When questioned regarding BARACHIEL leading in today’s event, jockey M Potgieter stated that the horse was reluctant to settle in the early stages, and as such allowed his mount to stride forward and after doing so settled into stride.
 
Shiranda – Approaching the 150m, was disappointed for a run between SPRING CREEK and DON’T DOUBT LARA which rolled in marginally. Jockey N Summers, rider of DON’T DOUNT LARA, was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mounts when they shift ground in the future.
 
The Baker – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
Don't Doubt Lara – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 7: ST PETER'S CAULFIELD CUP RACEDAY PACKAGES ON SALE NOW! BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1400 Metres
 
Native Bee – Jumped away awkwardly. When approaching the 100m, had to be steadied after becaming awkwardly placed on the heels of COMMANDER’S WATCH.
 
Flat to Stack – Approaching the 1100m, raced in restricted room and as a result, overraced for a number of strides.Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Getout of My Neigh – Jumped away awkwardly.Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
Anarchy – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

Centaur – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
Commander's Watch – Raced wide throughout.
 
Miss Star – Slow to begin.
 
Reliable Lass – Underwent a pre-race veterinary check after competing at Nanango on 12th of September and was passed fit to start. Hampered shortly after jumping away.
