Rounding the home turn put in a couple of awkward strides and became unbalanced and then was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed it to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer D Ballard was advised that a veterinary clearance of soundness would be required prior to being permitted to trail or race again. Trainer D Ballard advised Stewards that she would consult with the owners regarding its racing future.
