Rider explained mount travelled comfortably and relaxed in the early stages however, after 1400m when the leaders steadied the tempo his mount commenced to overrace and despite his efforts was unable to maintain position one off with cover and rather than unnecessarily restrain felt he had no other option than to allow it to stride forward and was then caught racing three wide without cover from the 1000m on.
