After beginning from a wide barrier, attempted to obtain cover behind REAL SUPREMACY in the run to the first turn but was unable to do so when RAIDEN had improved to its inside and therefore was obliged to race three wide without cover for the remainder of the event. Proved disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey R. Maloney stated that although he was caught wide throughout he was slightly disappointed in the finishing effort of the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. A swab sample was taken.
