After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to a position outside the leader near the 1100m. When asked to comment on the performance, A. Mallyon stated that the gelding raced in a forward position and when the field sprinted after passing the 600m failed to respond. He added that in his opinion the gelding will improve with the run and may appreciate races further than that of today’s event as he believes the gelding is one-paced.
