Bumped at the start. Performed below market expectation. Rider R Maloney stated that the mare did not show its customary early speed and travelled only fairly. He went on to say that it commenced to hang out from the 800m and failed to run on and in his opinion has come to the end of its preparation. Trainer D Vandyke advised that the mare would be sent for an immediate spell. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding did not identify any abnormal findings and a post-race swab was taken for analysis.
