Shinn explained that the gelding travelled reasonably well throughout in a favourable position and when asked for an effort in the home straight proved disappointing. Trainer T. Gollan advised that in light of today’s performance he will consider starting the gelding in races of lesser class than that of today’s event and have it ridden in a more positive manner.
