Jockey L Rolls reported at scale that his mount did not feel comfortable in its action and therefore he was reluctant to place the gelding under pressure as he had concerns that it may have suffered an injury. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer J Smerdon was advised that he must obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness before the geldings next race start.
