Trainer advised that the gelding was to be ridden off the speed today. Jockey Allen reported that he attempted to restrain the gelding in the early stages to comply with his instructions. When unable to obtain cover he allowed it to cross forward of runners to his inside to obtain a position closer to the fence with the intention of then handing up the lead to obtain cover. Despite his efforts, the gelding then continued to over-race during the middle stages of the event.
