Due to a clerical error, it was advertised that the gelding would race in an offside bubble cheeker. The gelding did not race with that gear at its last start at Doomben and therefore, the absence of the offside bubble cheeker was not a gear change. A public announcement was made to this effect.

Near the 1000m had to be steadied from the heels of JUNCTION which shifted in. When questioned as to the performance App. J Grob stated that the filly travelled into the race nicely, however, peaked on its run passing the 300 and in his opinion proved disappointing. App. Grob noted that a nasal strip had been added to the fillys gear for the first time today. App. Grob added that passing the winning post the filly made an abnormal respiratory sound and as such may benefit from the addition of a tongue tie. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
