The gelding has pleased him in its work leading up to todays event including performing well in a recent jump out and trial and he expected a forward showing in todays event. As the gelding has not started for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. After entering the home straight, commenced to weaken. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer J. Perry was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse trialling or racing again.
