When questioned into the performance, rider D. Griffin was unable to offer any tangible explanation and explained that the gelding travelled well throughout the race, however, failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure leaving the 300m. Stable foreman P. Shailer, was at a loss to explain todays performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities and a swab sample was taken.
