Rider said that, consistent with trials he has ridden the gelding in, his mount was a little bit slow to begin, settled in a midfield position and travelled quite well until rounding the home turn when inconvenienced by CURRUMBIN CRAFT, which forced him wider on the track, however when placed under pressure in the home straight the gelding proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings other than a laceration to the off hind hock.
