Made contact with the hind quarters of MALCRIADO when racing in restricted room approaching the 900m, turning that horse in, resulting in AJANI being tightened on to the running rail. AJANI then commenced to overrace whilst leading. Laid out passing the 500m and made heavy contact with MALCRIADO.

Raced three wide without cover throughout. Became awkwardly placed at the heels of BULLION BELLE passing the 500m and was forced wider on the track. Commenced to lose ground on straightening and finished at the rear of the field. Rider J. Stanley reported that the gelding today was caught wide and suffered some minor inconvenience throughout the event, however was disappointing. He added that in his opinion the gelding appreciates being ridden more conservatively with cover to allow it to utilise its sprint at the finish of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalitie
