Began awkwardly and shifted out. Inclined to overrace and lay out slightly when leading in the early and middle stages. Hug out in the home straight, causing its rider to stop riding on a number of occasions. M. Cahill dropped his whip near the 250m. M. Cahill reported that his mount was under pressure whilst hanging out rounding the home turn and was very disappointing in the run to the line. He said carrying top weight in today’s event may have had a detrimental effect on the overall performance. He added that in his opinion it races best on very firm surfaces. Vetted, slow recovery.
