Hung out and did not stretch out over the final 200m. A post race veterinary examination found the horse to have suffered a laceration and bruising to the heel of the near fore and also lost its off hind plate, which also resulted in a portion of the horse’s hoof being removed. Trainer J. Dixon indicated the horse would now be sent for a spell following this injury. Stewards advised Mr Dixon that if he does not spell the horse he would be required to provide a veterinary certificate prior to the horse’s next race start.

Slow to begin. Had to be restrained from heels near the 900m. Jockey Tomizawa was asked to comment on the performance. He stated he had been instructed to ride forward from the wide alley, however after being slow to begin was obliged to settle the horse in a position in the second half of the field. He added that the horse was bumped by other runners at various points during the race and he did not feel that the horse travelled comfortably on the tight racing circuit.
