Slow to begin. Obliged to alter course to secure clear running approaching the 200m after being disappointed for a run.
Rider apprentice R. Goldsbury reported the horse laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 900m was placed in restricted room and had to be steadied when racing between MAGIC FOX , which shifted out, and PENNINO, which shifted in. Jockey T. Brooker, rider of PENNINO, was advised in similar circumstances she would be expected to exercise more care. Raced 3 wide without cover.
Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early stages. Raced wide.
Trainer M. Webb reported that in light of today’s performance the filly would now be sent for a spell.
Slow to begin. Near the 250m was obliged to alter course to avoid the weakening SUPERSONIC BOOM.
Hampered on jumping away. Jockey P. Hammersley confirmed his disappointment in the performance and could offer no explanation. Trainer S. O’Dea advised that the horse would likely be sent for a spell, and in light of today’s performance he would report back to stewards if anything came to light in the coming days that may have had a bearing on today’s performance.
Overraced when being restrained to obtain cover near the 900m. When asked to comment on the performance of the horse, which weakened in the home straight, jockey M. Du Plessis indicated that, in his opinion, the horse raced like a horse that had come to the end of its preparation. He added that the gelding laid in badly when entering the home straight and was making an abnormal respiratory noise when under pressure.
