The start was delayed after the horse broke through the barriers and cantered for a short distance. Was then examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Jockey L. Dittman reported that, in his opinion, his mount was stirred up prior to the event and after having broken through the barriers prior to the start being effected, he felt this had a detrimental effect on the horse’s overall performance.
