When overracing badly in the early stages had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 850m when GETYOURGREYON shifted in. Whilst stewards accepted that the racing manners of RUFF IT UP contributed to this incident, stewards advised jockey J. Byrne, rider of GETYOURGREYON, to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After receiving interference near the 850m continued to overrace and shifted out to avoid heel near the 700m and raced wide from that point onwards. Trainer Mr K. Kemp was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
