Cahill reported that the gelding travelled well until the home turn when the horse became unbalanced before being somewhat disappointing over the concluding stages. He added that this may have been as a result of the horse having its first start racing in the clockwise direction. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
