SUSPENSIONS

Race 1             BATTY LOVES BEER         Failing to persue, 1st offence, 28 days + satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks

GENERAL

Race 1 – Novice 520m

The ‘all clear’ was delayed to allow the stewards the opportunity to view the patrol film to determine whether BATTY LOVES BEER was denied a fair start as the greyhound failed to leave the boxes when the start was effected.  After viewing the patrol film stewards were satisfied that BATTY LOVES BEER was given every opportunity to start in the correct manner and therefore the ‘all clear’ was given.  BLUE POINTER was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight CRY LATER and ALL BECAUSE bumped resulting in both greyhounds being hampered.  Shortly after LUNA SEA and CRY LATER collided resulting in both greyhounds being checked and losing ground.  ALL BECAUSE was hampered as a result of this incident.

The greyhound BATTY LOVES BEER was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Stewards advised trainer Mr. J Quarman that the greyhound would be charged under Rule 69A Failing to Persue, 1st offence, 28 days plus a satisfactory stewards’ trial 520m all tracks.

Race 2 – 5th Grade 520m

SWEET AS BETH was best to begin.  In the run to the finish TORQUE FLIGHT and GEORGINA bumped over a considerable distance causing both greyhounds to be hampered.

Race 3 – 4/5th Grade 520m

Even start.  HEAD SHY was slow to begin.  In the front straight MPINGO and UP THE ATTITUDE bumped causing both greyhounds to be hampered.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight UP THE ATTITUDE and HEAD SHY collided causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.  Leaving the back straight HEAD SHY checked over the heels of KIDATEE CROC and was momentarily hampered.

Race 4 – Queensland Cup Heat 1 600m

Even start.  Rounding the turn into the front straight ALPHA THESEUS checked off the heels of COSMIC BOSS and raced wide.  ALPHA THESEUS again raced wide in the back straight.  Leading into the back straight MINNIE IMPACT was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.

Race 5 – Queensland Cup Heat 2 600m

TAYTO, SPRING BONANZA and VELOCITY SHIRL were best to begin.  HURRICANE CHANCE and KNIGHTS TEMPLAR were slow out.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion KNIGHTS TEMPLAR checked off the heels of HURRICANE CHANCE and was hampered.

Race 6 – Queensland Cup Heat 3 600m

GOLFING AMY was best to begin.  Approaching the turn into the front straight on the 1st occasion VEGAS BOUND, ABBY’S MAGIC and OSLEY RUBEY all raced tight resulting in all 3 greyhounds to be checked to varying degrees.  In the back straight ABBY’S MAGIC contacted the heels of OXLEY RUBEY and was hampered.

Race 7 – 3/4th Grade 520m

IONA CHAMPION, MADE THAT WAY, ANTI DENTITE and FABULOUS BILL were best to begin.  CLOVER COTTAGE was slow out.  WHATA NICE SIZE contacted the running rail leaving the front straight.  CLOVER COTTAGE was checked as a result of this incident.  IONA CHAMPION raced wide in the back straight.  ANTI DENTITE was tightened for racing room in the front straight shortly after the start, checked and lost ground.  Leaving the back straight OUTSIDE PASS checked off the heels of ANTI DENTITE and lost ground.

The greyhound WHATA NICE SIZE was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.

Race 8 – 2/3rd Grade 520m

BUTCHULLA BOY was best to begin.  Entering the back straight ELUSIVE DESIRE checked over the heels of VEUVE and was hampered.

The greyhound HOPE’S MAGIC was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.  Trainer Mr. W Elson explained that the greyhound races best when it is able to lead the event and after slipping shortly after the start it was his view that the greyhound was unable to challenge in the early stages for the lead and whilst Mr. Elson acknowledged that HOPE’S MAGIC did not run on over the concluding stages he was of the view that when the greyhound missed the start in the early stages after slipping it hindered its overall performance.  Stewards whilst noting Mr. Elson’s explanation informed him that they expect the greyhound to perform in a consistent manner and a repetition would lead to further action being taken against the greyhound.

Race 9 – 5th Grade 520m

CURIOUS STYLE was best to begin.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight FINITO was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight SPLIT SYSTEM contacted the hindquarters of PREMIER JET which resulted in SPLIT SYSTEM being checked and losing ground.

Race 10 – 5th Grade 520m

Even start.  IRINKA SHANE was slow out.  Approaching the turn out of the front straight AMY LYNDAN was tightened for racing room, checked and lost ground.  Shortly after IRINKA SHANE contacted the heels of LORRY DRYVA was checked and lost ground.  Rounding the turn out of the front straight AMY LYNDAN and LORRY DRYVA collided causing both greyhounds to be severely checked and lose considerable ground.  Approaching the turn into the back straight PLUM JAM and BOOTY BEACH collided causing both greyhounds to be checked and lose ground.

The greyhound AMY LYNDAN was vetted and no apparent injuries were found.
